I finally captured the Iris Nebula from my backyard!! It’s been on the list for a while but it’s taken quite a few attempts. Kinda looks like a portal in space… 😬 #astrophotography #astronomy #astrology #astropics #starynight #iris #nebula #universe #space #stars #beamazed #interstellar #skywatcher #longexposure #telescope

INTERSTELLAR DUST! This is the Iris Nebula (NGC 7023). This reflection nebula is located in the constellation Cepheus. Approximately 1,300 light years away from Earth. It was really cold night and i managed to get 2 hours of exposuretime. This target needs a lot more exposuretime but i still got nice amount of detail so i’m happy with my result. 😊 . . . . . . . . . . . #astrophotography #irisnebula #iris #nebula #space #stars #star #universe #astronomy #astropics #interstellar #beamazed #dust #telescope #skywatcher #night #nightsky #starynight #astro #astrophoto

The Iris nebula is a reflection nebula being lit up by the star cluster it surrounds. It’s 1,300 light years from us and it’s just freakin beautiful. I shot this from my bortle 7, light polluted backyard with no filters. I’m slowly becoming anti filter. I can get so much more detail without it. I might shoot this from a dark sky site this week to see the difference. With bright light from the nearby (star) HD 200775 illuminating it from above, the dust in the nebula resembles thick mounds of billowing cotton. It is actually made up of tiny particles of solid matter. Both background and foreground stars are dotted throughout the image. Researchers studying the object are particularly interested in the region to the left and slightly above centre in the image, where dusty filaments appear redder than is expected.” — ESO. Riprese fatte col Hubble Space Telescope Credit . An ocean… in space. 🌌🌊✨⭐ This breathtaking close up of the Trifid Nebula looks like drifting sediments underwater… but it’s actually a stellar nursery 5,000 light years away. Captured in Detail: Released on April 20, 2026, this image from the Hubble Space Telescope reveals a shimmering region where new stars are being born. A Cosmic Nursery: Powerful stars outside this frame have been shaping this region for over 300,000 years. Their intense winds carve through gas and dust, creating bubbles and compressing material. Where Stars Are Born: As the gas gets squeezed, new waves of star formation begin… turning this cloud into a factory of future suns. A Living Structure: What looks calm and beautiful is actually a dynamic, ever changing region filled with energy, motion, and creation. A Special Moment: This image also celebrates 36 years since the launch of Hubble, one of humanity’s greatest eyes on the universe. It may look like an ocean… But it’s where stars begin. 🌌💎 🎥 Credit: Image: NASA / ESA

The Witch Head Nebula - animated edition. The witch like profile is really just a huge cloud of dust lit by the bright star Rigel. This faint reflection nebula hangs in the darkness like an ancient cosmic spell. For this version I also blended in Ha to pull out a red glow of hydrogen wrapped around the dust. Credit . NASA/ESA/STScl

The Eastern Veil (NGC 6992) is an incredibly beautiful supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. And you know what's most amazing about this image? It was taken with just a Seestar S50 smart telescope! 🔭 Many still think that deep space photography requires bulky astronomical equipment costing hundreds of thousands. But this image proves otherwise. The secret lies in skillful post-processing. Thanks to careful and precise manipulation of the source files in the Siril from my friend @emmanuel_astroboy, a true miracle was extracted from the data. Look at these details: the photo clearly reveals not only the familiar red hydrogen filaments, but also stunning blue oxygen (OIII) regions, which are usually quite difficult to capture and reveal with amateur equipment! 💙🔴 It's an incredible feeling when technology allows you to touch stellar explosions that occurred thousands of years ago, right from your own backyard.
