What happens when the bounciest of bouncy rim-running bigs joins forces with the speediest replacement-level point guard in NBA history? A ridiculous volume of alley-oop yams en route to barely eclipsing double-digits in the win column. Nerlens was an absolute physical specimen, but man was he painfully one dimensional. A sinewy frame, go-go gadget arms, springs in his shoes and pogo-stick verticality starkly contrasted against a dearth of ball skills and a glaring lack of touch/finesse outside the restricted area. Forgettable NBA Moment No. 293: With the Sixers’ regular season winning percentage synonymous with a Sweet 16 (technically closer to 13% but I didn’t wanna stoop that low), Jahlil Okafor aborts his solo high-post mission versus Marcin Gortat and shovels it to Nik Stauskas who catches it with less than 3 on the shot clock. Big Jah absolutely shafting Nik on this occasion. Unless, of course, he knew Stauskas was up to the task. And with the help of a quick, convincing shot fake, anything is possible. Nik Stauskas fakes out a bamboozled John Wall (on an unrelated note, happy retirement, Wall Star), sidesteps to the left at the 3PT break and laces the three-ball with an aim as true as they come.
