The scriptures are full of warning’s from the Loving / Creator of All Things / Long-Suffering / Sovereign / Holy God, that His people will be set-apart, they will look and act different! The true Gospel of Jesus Christ leaves no man a place to boast in their “GIFT” of faith that leads them to sacrificial obedience to Christ…. So please don’t take this as a boast post… J.C. Ryle didn’t mean it that way and I don’t either. If I were to boast, I could only truly boast like Job when he says, “I am vile,” and Paul when he says, “I am chief of sinners.” In light of all God gave me, and how my wicked heart responded to Him before He saved me, the blasphemous nature of my life before Christ will rival any man. But that’s just the thing about true Christian salvation…about the true gospel! It humbles EVERY man that’s ever been saved by it…b/c the true Gospel tells us it has NOTHING to do with us, and EVERYTHING to do w/ the Righteous love of God. God The Holy Spirit, at God the Father’s affective call, through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, gives us a new heart that believes in the Righteousness of God, revealed in Christ’ perfect life, perfect death, and His perfect resurrection, all for the forgiveness of our PERSONAL sins. The Gospel glorifies God first and foremost but in God being rightly glorified, His personal love for His children is displayed. That love will ALWAYS lead to a self-sacrificing, set-apart, holy heart that joyfully obeys Christ! True children of God will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ b/c that’s what the Holy Spirit does… He makes His people holy… But here are two things we must know from the jump: 1> My sins cost Jesus His life! And 2> Jesus Christ lived, died, and rose again for me!
