✅ RUNNING TIPS ❌ SAVE and work on it 👍 If you want a good RUNNING ECONOMY, UPPER BODY movements need to be efficient! ❌ Don’t rotate your shoulders and torso too much ✅ Torso has to be strong and shoulders perpendicular to it. Arms swing is close to the hip (hands should almost touch your hips). This is one of my weakness too, especially when I am tired, my shoulders tend to rotate. Jogging should be a function that everyone’s able to do notches because it’s a great exercise, but because it’s a basic function of the body. Just like ability to walk squat, get down on the floor, push pull, etc. The challenge lies in getting started, especially for those of us that might be really out of shape, and not able to jog more than 15 seconds without losing our breath. The most important tip is to not over think. Set a timer for 5 minutes and go outside to start off with a walk. Though you are walking and not jogging, yet, set the intention in your mind to be able to walk faster and faster until your fast walk turns into a slow jog. Then eventually, your slow jog will turn into a regular speed jog. And before you know it, one day, you may build up the ability to run.

Drills for improving your running form … A few things to focus on while doing these are keeping your upper body relaxed, striking your foot close to below your hips, maintaining ankle stiffness, and intentionally thinking about your foot strike pulling you forward. Reps and reps of drills like these just ingrain good running mechanics & habits into you. Before any session I will do 10 minutes of drills like these in addition to a warm up jog & mobility, not only for running form improvements but to get prepped to move fast.
