At Mariposa DR Foundation, the library for the younger kids is named Julia Alvarez, and right next door, with a connecting inner door, is the Edwidge Danticat Library for young adults. I love it that we are side by side, as are our homelands! Reading can bring us together. I’ll be in conversation with Edwidge next Tuesday, April 2nd at the Center for Fiction in Brooklyn for the launch of CEMETERY— I’m thrilled we will be together, just as our libraries.
