The ultimate roast for your Shabbat feast This is truly magic💫 one pan, no fuss, loaded with vegetables, and insanely delicious.
Nothing fancy, nothing complicated—just the easiest, most comforting roast you’ll ever make. 👉 This can be baked in a cast-iron pot, aluminum pan, or any oven-proof baking dish—whatever you have works perfectly. 💬 For any product links used in this video, comment “links” and I’ll send them straight to your inbox. 🥩 Ingredients * 3½-lb French roast (or any cut of meat you love—anything goes!) * 2 cups fresh tomato chunks * 2 cups carrot sticks * 2 cups peeled golden potato spears * 2 cups celery sticks * 2 cups quartered red onions (also called purple onions—red is the proper name 😉) * 4 tbsp paprika * 2 tbsp salt (or less, to taste) * 1 tbsp black pepper * 1 tbsp garlic powder * 1 tsp turmeric * 1 tsp allspice * Juice of 1 orange * About ½ cup olive oil * Drizzle of honey (can substitute maple syrup or silan/molasses) 🍲 Instructions 1. Wash the roast and pat it completely dry. 2. Peel and cut all vegetables. 3. Place the roast in the center of your pan. 4. Arrange all vegetables around it, just like in the video. 5. Add all spices and olive oil over the roast. 6. Massage well—use your hands and really work the spices into the meat and the vegetables, coating everything evenly. 7. Pour the juice of one orange over the top. 8. Drizzle honey all over the roast and vegetables. 9. Cover with parchment paper, then foil (this helps prevent direct contact between foil and food). 10. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (165°C) for 3 hours. 11. Remove the cover and bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes, basting once or twice with the pan juices. ✨ To Serve You can slice the roast (like I did), leave it whole, or shred it—totally up to you.
