According to Islamic tradition, the Kaaba was first built by Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) and later rebuilt by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Prophet Ismail (peace be upon them) on the command of Allah. It was constructed as a house of monotheistic worship, dedicated solely to the One God. Over time, the Kaaba suffered damage due to floods and natural causes and was rebuilt several times by different tribes of Quraysh, including before the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. During that reconstruction, the Prophet ﷺ resolved the dispute over placing the Black Stone (Hajr-e-Aswad) with wisdom. After the conquest of Makkah, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ cleansed the Kaaba of idols and restored it as the center of pure worship. Today, Muslims around the world face the Kaaba during prayer, making it the spiritual heart of Islam.
