Climbing trees is just good fun, right? Well, not when they're a 75 metre tall karri, and the only way up is a series of metal pegs hammered into the trunk. The Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree is the tallest of three 'climbing trees' around Pemberton. The good news for the jelly-legged adventurers who make it to the top is that it's even worse coming down. That's when you have to look down as you're carefully placing your feet on the pegs. 📹 @thefam4adventure #travellerau #daveevansbicentennialtree #pembertonwa #westernaustralia #wa #wanderoutyonder #seeaustralia #seewesternaustralia #holidayherethisyear #travel #adventure #adventuretravel #adventureseeker #adventureenthusiasts #adventurevisuals #travelgram #traveladdict #travelblog #travelawesome #travelstoke #travelpics #traveldiaries #traveldeeper #travelmore #travelpic #travelbug #travelgoals #travelinspiration #travelporn #traveltips

Located inside the Warren National Park, this 75 metre-tall karri tree was pegged for climbing to celebrate Australia’s bicentenary in 1988 and holds the claim of being the tallest climbing tree in the world. Unfortunately the top platform remains closed for now after the tree’s closure in 2023. But, for the thrill seekers among you, the first platform which sits approximately 20m above the forest floor is open again! Those planning a visit will need to buy a National Park Pass ($12 per vehicle) from the Pemberton Visitor Centre first. #perthisok

Must do when traveling the South West 🌲🧗🏼 Follow @dazandcecil for more spots like this in Australia 🦘 Climbing this 75m giant karri tree was thrilling and slightly terrifying. 😃 It’s supposed to be the world’s tallest climbing tree, with its 65-metre top platform, which is now sadly closed, and only the lower 20-metre platform is accessible due to safety upgrades. 🌳 Kinda crazy that you can actually climb it, step by step up the metal spikes, with the forest stretching out beneath you. The views from the top are unreal and totally worth the shaky legs on the way up. 😆 This was definitely one of the most unique adventures we’ve done so far in WA. 🙌🏼 📍 Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree in Warren National Park, just outside Pemberton, 3.5h from Perth 🚗

Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, Pemberton 🌲 This 65m karri giant is part of the old fire lookout system where spotters would climb trees to watch for bushfires. It’s crazy to think people used to climb this tree regularly for work. There’s no harness and no safety net. Just a series of metal spikes spiralling up into the sky with some wire around the edge. It’s terrifying and impressive all at once. But we decided to admire this one from the ground, thanks. Note: the Dave Evan’s tree is currently only open to climb to the first 20m platform while the upper platform is being refurbished. #travelaustraliawithkids #karri #caravanningwithkids #makingmemories #nationalpark

I happily took on the photographer roll for this activity with both my feet planted firmly on the ground, while Craig climbed to the top 😲 This is the Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree, a 75 m tall karri tree, that was pegged for climbing to celebrate Australia's bicentenary in 1988. It is the tallest climbing tree in the world! We all also checked out the Gloucester Tree the day before, which is 53m high! There were too many people around to have a proper go at it so we decided to see this one, because 53m isn't tall enough already 🥴, and go early in the morning. We had it to ourselves but weren't counting on it to be only 5 degrees and the bars being popsicle sticks! Pretty cool, but I think you are very brave or a little bonkers to climb it (Craig knows which one I think he is). • • • • • #travelphotography #dronephotography #dji #travelaustralia #lapofaustralia #australia #westernaustralia #westisbest #pembertonwa #daveevansbicentennialtree #climbingtree #margaretriver #perthvibes

This is not AI. These trees are called Kapok trees, reaching an immense height of up to 200 ft. They are known for their large, plank-like buttress roots that provide stability in thin soil. Revered as sacred ‘Tree of Life’ symbols in Maya culture, they also provide critical habitats for rainforest biodiversity.

Would you climb these trees? 👀 The Gloucester Tree and Dave Evans Bicentennial Tree are huge Karri trees in Pemberton, Western Australia. Back in the day, they were used as fire spotting trees, but now they are open to the public to climb for free! This was so much fun and the views from the top were stunning 🙌🏼 . . . #karritrees #pemberton #pembertonwa #westernaustralia #tourismwa #travellingaustralia #treeclimb #southwestwa

Kayu Putih is the name of a giant Kapok tree in central Bali that’s believed to be one of Bali’s oldest and biggest trees. It’s a magnificent tree with a ‘fairy tale’ feel to it, like many other places in Bali. The local villagers say the tree is more than 50 meters tall and 700 years old, which would mean it was a baby back when some of Bali’s famous temples were being built. The tree and village is a 1 hour drive north from Ubud or Canggu, and there’s a good road leading all the way to the tree. The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver. Save it for you Bali Trip 😊 #wanderingminds_india #bali #ubud #kayuputih #ancient #tree #nature #kapok #explorebali #travelgram #indonesia #tamanayuntemple #sangehmonkeyforest
