Mistakes are what help us grow 🌱 here are the mistakes I made as a beginner knitter and some tips so that you don’t make the same ones 🫶🏻 #knittingtips #knitting #yarn #knitter #beginnerknitter #knittingtutorial #knitterofinstagram

EASY NON-ROLL EDGING Do you want to prevent the hem of your stockinette knitting from curling? This is an easy way I used in my fleur_top pattern and I thought I’ll share it with you 🤍 1. Cast on your needed amount of stitches and knit at least 2-3 rounds (or rows, it works for flat knitting too) in stockinette stitch. 2. Slip the stitch from left needle knitwise. 3. Lift the stitch from two rounds/rows below of the same stitch from the wrong side ( the second purl bump) and knit it. 4. Pass your previously slipped stitch over. 3. Repeat steps 1-4 for every stitch. After that you can keep knitting your garment in your preferred pattern. The edging needs some practice, but after the first few stitches it’s really easy to remember. I love the neat and subtle look of it 🤍 Music: Views by Ikson #knittingtutorial #knittingtips #strikketips #knitting #knittinginspiration #knittingedge #howtoknit #knitters #knittersofinstagram #knittersoftheworld #knittersofgermany #knit #knittinglove #strick #stricken #stricktutorial #strikke #strikken #strik #вяжутнетолькобабушки #вязаниеспицами

The German Twisted Cast-On is a game-changer you’ll wish you knew earlier. 🧶✨ It creates a stretchy, neat edge — ideal for ribbing, cuffs, hats, socks, or any project where a standard cast-on feels too tight. In this video, I’ll walk you through it step by step. It may seem a little tricky at first, but once you get the motion down, it feels so natural! 📌 Save this for later and give it a try! sometimes mistakes happen - here’s a simple trick to save your stitches before frogging so you don’t lose them all :) have you tried this before? ✨ #knittingtips #stricken #knitting

I’ll start! Don’t worry about holding yarn in both hands right away! Focus on tension by dropping the strand you’re not using and stick to your usual knitting style. I’ve made plenty of sweaters this way and eventually transitioned to holding one strand in each hand, but there’s no rush to learn a new knitting method just to do stranded colourwork. The key is to stretch out the stitches you’ve just knit before switching colours. This keeps the float at the back loose enough for stretch! 🧶✨ Hope that was helpful! And I hope there will be many more great tips in the comments! Music from #Uppbeat, https://uppbeat.io/t/justin-lee/wanderlust. License code: CNZVVAMAKM9XV5LZ

A simple trick to make knitting easier ⬇️ And to give you a super clean edge every time (I learned this from my Grandma (Omi) back in Germany when I was a kid, but never knew this was an actual technique with a name 😂🙈) 🧶 Try this: Slip the first stitch of every row and purl the last stitch of every row. Why it works: 1️⃣ This method, often called a selvage edge, creates a smooth, clean border—no bumps or gaps to stress over 2️⃣ Purling the last stitch locks in your row, keeping everything neat and tidy 3️⃣ It’s quick to learn, simple to do, and works with any project! Knitting doesn’t have to feel complicated. Little tricks like this can make your projects easier to knit and more enjoyable to finish. Do you have a favorite hack? More tips? I’ve been using this bind-off method with a crochet hook for years — and it’s still one of my favorites! 🧶✨ Here I’m finishing the bottom of a 1x1 rib sweater (one knit, one purl), binding off knit stitches as knits and purl stitches as purls — using a crochet hook. The result? A clean, stretchy edge that looks great on both sides! 😍 It’s simple, fast, and gives a super neat finish. If you haven’t tried it yet, you totally should! #KnittingTips #CrochetBindOff #StretchyBindOff #KnittingHack #DIYKnitting #CozyKnits #KnitwearMagic #CraftingJoy

💡 Things I wish I’d known when I first started knitting 💡 You probably have your favourite cast on method, but we’re here to introduce you to the “cable cast on,” a super versatile and stretchy option that we absolutely love. If you’ve ever struggled with getting a hat to fit just right or found that a sweater’s hem was too tight, this cast on will be a total game-changer for you. We promise! 🧶 What’s your all-time favourite cast on method? We’d love to hear your thoughts, so drop them in the comments below! #askthisisknit #beginnerknitter #knittinghacks #howtoknit #knittingtips #thisisknit #knitwithTIK #Dublinyarnshop

Tips for knitting colorwork⬇️ 1) Don’t let your stitches bunch up on your needles. Right before you change colors, spread the stitches out that are on your needles. This will help create even floats! 2) Color dominance does make a difference to the stitch definition. Make sure that your main color floats pass over the top of the contrast color floats. To help keep track, knit in English style for the main color and continental style for the contrast color. 3) Swatch and block before starting the project. Your tension will likely differ quite a bit from your usual tension when knitting colorwork so make sure to check your gauge. This will also allow you to figure out if the colors will bleed at all. It’s much better to find out from a swatch than a sweater. Update // The Darling Sweater pattern is out now! So many different ways of knitting, I would love to hear yours! Please excuse my awkward English knitting, I’ve received a lot of requests to show the different ways to knit… and it’s very obvious which one I use daily. There is a constant discussion about which method of knitting is best, which is faster, etc.… In my opinion, you should choose the method that is most comfortable for your hands, and most sustainable for you. Unless you are in production knitting (career) then I don’t think speed is really the ultimate goal. Anyways, would love to see you and hear how you know, if you feel like v sharing a video, please tag me! I am knitting on a new project, the Air Cardigan test, a new pattern coming from @ozetta soon! learn how to knit in under 3 min🥰🧶 (this is your sign to start knitting girly!!) knitting is my favorite little granny hobby! I learned when I was 8 years old and ever since I’ve knit all kinds of christmas gifts for my loved ones each year. I find it to be SO therapeutic to do something with my hands when I’m watching tv or relaxing, instead of reaching for my phone🤍 hope you enjoy!! #knitting #knittingtutorial #knittingforbeginners #crafting #craftygirl #knittinginspo
