We are raising forested/pastured pork, a hybrid of two heritage breeds: a Mangalitsa-Berkshire cross which provides incredibly flavorful meat. Our pigs are always outside in paddocks where we've planted forage plants like daikon, turnips, mustard greens, field peas, oats and barley. We rotate their paddocks. They also eat plenty of pecans along with whatever it is they can find on the ground. We also include a high-quality non-GMO feed so the pigs always have access to good food. As it’s national pig week here is some bumph on our piggies! We have 8 sows at the moment, all pedigree Welsh. These are a white pig with floppy ears! We will be going up again in numbers before the end of the year. We keep every piglet to finish and sell to Cashells of Crickhowell and will be starting to supply someone new as well very soon - more on that later in the year!
