Struggling with application? Let me help you 💌 When applying lash fans, here are my non negotiable steps: 1. In the beginning when i was still mastering the skill, i use my F.I.D.A. method. Fan, Isolate, Dip, Apply. This helps with the glue not drying on me as I’m isolating the natural lashes. It also ensures the glue on the lashes is fresh before it touches the natural lash. 2. Holding the fan parallel to the natural lash before letting them touch. This helps with making sure there’s enough contact surface between the fan and the natural lash for maximized retention. The goal is for the entire base of the fan to be touching the natural lash. 3. Wiggling the base of the lash around the natural lash. This helps with wrapping the lash extensions around the natural lash. This maximizes the retention, and prevents it from being easily popped off. Lash Artist Tip✨ +How to Isolate Faster ⭐️Map your sets out and work in sections, this makes it easier to lash every lash with out getting overwhelmed from working all over the eye at once. ⭐️Work from the inners and outers to the middle of the eye, taping back each section as you go. This allows for you to focus on one section at a time while also stretching out the lashes for easier isolation. Personally I do the inner corners first, then outers, then bounce back in forth to each outer section until I reach my last section in the middle. ⭐️Make sure to use a sensitive tape so it doesn’t pull the extensions every time you adjust it, try this tip out on your next client and with time and practice you’ll be comfortably lashing at a faster pace! 4 Beginner Lash Tech Tips You Need to Know🫶🏽✨ 1. Isolation is everything✨ – Before worrying about speed or fancy styles, focus on clean isolation. Poor isolation leads to stickies, discomfort for clients, and sets that don’t last. Practicing this early will make every other skill so much easier to master! 2. Refresh your glue often🌸 – Glue performance drops the longer it sits exposed to the air. Even if it looks fine, the consistency and bonding power weaken. A good rule of thumb is to refresh every 15–20 minutes. This one habit can massively improve retention!! 3. Control your environment 🎀 – Lash glue is sensitive to temperature and humidity. If your room is too dry, the glue won’t cure fast enough; too humid and it will cure too quickly. Get a hygrometer, aim for around 45–65% humidity, and adjust with a humidifier/dehumidifier when needed 4. Be smart with your supplies 💖 – It’s tempting to splurge on big “lash brand” names, but most products come from the same factories. Paying so much extra will eat into your profit and fast, especially when you’re starting out. I put together a vendor list with 20 reliable suppliers (lashes, tweezers, glue, and more) — I’ve personally used and tested them, and some lash trays cost as little as $1.90 each. Isolation is key for a flawless set 💫⬇️ 1. Use Your Non-Dominant Hand Let your non-dominant hand assist by holding back other lashes while your dominant hand isolates and applies extensions! 2. Adjust Your Angle 📐 If you’re struggling to isolate, try adjusting your angle. Sometimes changing your perspective can help you see the lashes better! 3. Use Your Fingers 🫶🏽 Try using your fingers to help with isolation! Gently place your index finger on the client’s eyelid to lift and separate the lash layers. This can help expose those hard-to-reach lashes and make it easier to isolate them with your tweezers. Using your fingers adds extra control and precision, especially when dealing with stubborn or overlapping lashes! 4. Isolate Before You Pick Up 🔑 Always isolate the natural lash first, before picking up the extension. This helps prevent sticky lashes and ensures you place the extension on the correct lash. ✨ HERES WHY✨ A few little things that make a big difference for your lashes (and your lash tech 😉): ☕ Skip the caffeine – It can make your eyes flutter, which makes isolating lashes a challenge and can cause the pads or tape to move around 🔄 Don’t curl your lashes – Curled lashes might look cute, but they actually make it harder for extensions to bond properly. Natural is best here! 👀 Take out contacts if you can – Glue fumes can get trapped under contacts and cause irritation and no one wants spicy eyeballs 💄 Arrive with clean lashes – Makeup and mascara take extra time to remove, which means less time for me to actually lash you up. 🧴 Skip moisturizer that morning – Otherwise the pads and tape like to slide around (and no one wants that during lashing!) These small steps help me give you the best, fullest set possible — and make sure your lash nap is smooth and drama-free💗
