I would love to hear your thoughts on this concept. If all believers are part of the Church of the Lamb of God, what does that mean for missionary work? Does this perspective diminish the important of our theological difference? Is it too syncretistic? What role does the institutional Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints play within the larger Church of the Lamb of God? We just published a longer video on these questions on our channel, but let me know your thoughts! #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #lds #latterdaysaints

This is the first published photograph of the Salt Lake Temple’s Holy of Holies in over 100 years because what happens in the Holy of Holies is so sacred that most Latter-day Saints will never enter it. The Church just released interior photos of the temple, including one of President Oaks and his counselors reverently looking into this room that is usually kept locked and reserved for the most sacred occasions. Inside is a small, gold-and-blue room with a domed ceiling, chandelier, and a stained-glass window of God appearing to Joseph Smith, which hints at what may happen in here. From what church leaders have said, there are two main functions of this room. Boyd K Packer has taught that this is where the President and Prophet of the Church may go to pray and counsel with the Lord on major decisions. Joseph Smith stated that “no one can truly say he knows God until he has handled something, and this can only be done in the Holiest of Holies.” So one purpose is for the prophet to commune with God, similar to the ancient Israelite Holy of Holies. The second purpose of this room is not something to explain casually online because of its sacred nature. But according to Apostle James E. Talmage, this room is “for the higher ordinances in the Priesthood relating to the exaltation of both living and dead.” According to Joseph Smith’s journal, he and Emma experienced this “highest and holiest” ordinance of the priesthood in 1843. According to the Joseph Smith Papers published by the church, it was this ordinance “which Wilford Woodruff…often referred to as a “second anointing” in his journal.” Latter-day Saints receive a first anointing in the temple initiatory where they are blessed with beautiful promises of one day becoming as a king or queen, priest or priestess unto God. It’s exciting and inspiring to see this room where prophets have communed with God and sacred temple promises have been fulfilled. The world tried warning me that I was in a cult… #mormon #lds #cult #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints

Here is the entire verse: I’m trying to be like Jesus; I’m following in his ways. I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught.” **my kids were a little crazy today (full moon am I right?), so I only have a good clip of the chorus lol!** Dm me for a link to connect with LDS missionaries in your area! — #christian #mormon #lds #mormonism #thechurchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints

I walked in and sat down like I normally do when I’m wearing a dress and heels…except this time, I was very aware… I wasn’t. We were out of town for a quiet weekend at a cabin, and somehow I remembered everyone’s church clothes except mine. So I had two options: Stay back… or go in sweats. I went. Sacrament started, and as I sat there, I began thinking about my week. The moments I needed grace. The things I needed forgiveness for. The ways I needed God. I wrestled kids. Exchanged smiles with strangers I’d never met. And then someone got up and bore their testimony… and it hit me. So I got up to share mine too. Halfway to the pulpit, my little chubby faced three yr old with his perfect little bowl cut—came running after me. So there I was… standing at the pulpit… in sweats… holding my toddler while he played with his cars… bearing my testimony. And you know what happened? Nothing. Not a single comment. Not a weird look. Not a side eye. Honestly… I almost forgot I was even wearing sweats. Because I didn’t go there looking for judgment. I went looking for Christ. And I found Him. In the man who shared his testimony and in the 12-year-old girl who reminded me that God loves all of us, no matter what, when she so bravely got up to bear hers. People love to share stories about the one or two judgmental people. But no one talks about the hundreds who quietly show up… worship… love others… and go home. I usually wear a nice dress to church. I try to look my best out of respect for God. But today? Today, sweats were my best. And I think He was just really happy I came. The same way He’ll be happy to see you. Whether you feel put together or completely undone… whether you feel like a saint or like you’re barely holding it together or covered in sin. Isn’t that why we come anyway? What would be the point if we were perfect? So yeah… Nothing happened with the sweats. Like literally nothing. And that meant everything🥹 #jesus #churchofjesuschrist #mormon #lds #god
