Without getting into too many details, slipping stitches inaccurately in a knitted project will likely change the texture and appearance of your fabric. This can be as simple as rearranging by slipping a stitch one way or another in a decrease for a smooth/flatter decrease, or slipping the edge stitch of your fabric for a selvedge! Its good (arguably important) to know and understand the direction you’re slipping your knit stitches :) You will also need to slip stitches accurately in your setup rows for a sewn Italian bind off on most sweaters you knit! 𝒯𝓊𝓉ℴ𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓁 𝒯𝓊ℯ𝓈𝒹𝒶𝓎𝓈 Picot edge – details Knit 3–5 rows 1 row: k2tog, yo across Knit 3–5 rows again ( *the number of rows depends on your yarn weight — thicker yarn needs fewer rows, finer yarn may need more) Fold along the eyelet row. To join, pick up stitches from the same vertical column of the cast-on edge. This keeps the picot straight and prevents it from leaning to one side. Best for short socks (ankle socks / shorties), cuffs, sleeves, collars or baby knits — anywhere you want a soft decorative finish. I don’t recommend using this edge for tall socks — it isn’t elastic enough to hold them up on its own. Just discovered a fun easy to make design feature - raised knit stitches! This is super easy to knit, and creates almost like an i-cord in the middle of round! When #knitting in the round, you’re essentially knit in an upward spiral. Because of this, changing colours creates a visible “jog” at the start of each new stripe. This is how you can even out the jog: ✨ Knit to the last stitch of the round ✨ Yarn over with the new colour (bring it up behind the working yarn) ✨ Knit the last stitch in the old colour ✨ Continue with the new colour—don’t twist the yarns ✨ On the next round, knit the yarn over together with the last stitch 🧶🙌

Three ways to knit a left leaning 1 stitch decrease. The problem many Knitters have. With a standard ssk is that they can't tension the first stitch properly, so it looks larger than the stitches around it. I've played around with a lot of different techniques and these are my 3 favorite. The secret secret tip, though, is to k1tbl when you come to your ssk stitch on the next round.
