My new album ‘Hagaki’ is officially out today! 🥹 It’s been a beautiful journey up to this point, a journey which started almost a year ago in October 2024, when my photographer friend @robert.winter , Olski from @melting_pot_music and I embarked on our trip to Tokyo to work on this project. While I was thinking of a name for the album I came across the word ‘Hagaki’ or 「葉書」, which describes a traditional postcard and seemed to be a perfect fit for the combination of music and photography. I couldn’t be happier with the result and to have met such amazing musicians and beatmakers along the way, some of whom are now featured on the record: @takutrumpet , @nao_yoshioka , @budamonkfonk , @toshikisoejima , @tajimahello , @lidly , @mattwildemusic & @12vince47 . It feels like a real blessing to have been able to make the 4th record in this series of releases (which hopefully won’t be the last) and to share my musical visions with you once more. I did my best to put the feelings that Japan with its nature, people and culture evoke in me into these 16 tracks, just as @robert.winter did his best to capture the Japanese everyday life with his camera. We hope that you will get a bit of that feeling too, perhaps while listening and flicking through the photo booklet inside the vinyl.
