Here’s how to save money when flying American Airlines. Also, I shared what perks you get in Main vs Basic Economy below. Here’s what to do: 1️⃣ Book an Economy seat in Main NOT basic economy. 2️⃣ Set up a flight alert: For your travel dates, create a recurring flight alert. I use Google flights for this option. 3️⃣ Monitor price drops: Whenever the price drops, check the new fares. If you find a better price, place it on hold. 4️⃣ Act quickly! Since you already have flights booked for the same time, the hold on your new tickets will expire in a few hours. (At least this is what happened to me last week.) So, immediately cancel your original flight and book the new one using your travel credits. 💰 Now You have a remaining credit that expires in one year and I can use this credit for anyone. Important tips: if you have purchased tickets for your family, the flight credits might be split up between accounts. This does not matter and you can still use up to 8 flight credits to rebook the flight! Here is why you should pick main economy. ✈️ Free seat selection vs seats being assigned at check in. This increases your chance of being split up from your group. ✈️ More flexibility ✈️ Better boarding group vs the last boarding group. On full flights you’ll be required to check your carry on bag. 😳 ✈️ AA members will earn more points! Fyi only the person flying will earn points so always sign your kids up for a free AA account! The brand new business class suite on American and it's embarassing service on a premium route between New York and London.🥲 I was so excited for this flight but even my positive attitude didn't bright up the atmosphere. I don't consider myself a demanding passenger and I have understanding for bad days but this has been a standard for years now with @americanair . In fact the last time I experienced this I shared my feedback as well but apart from a very general response, nobody cares. You can tell the revenue department is spending MONEY on the product but it's not worrh it when then crew can't even smile. There's so many motivated people in aviation that would love this job but they are forced to operate 30mins hops across US instead of using their excitement on premium routes. I am a OneWorld Emerald and even that didn't help. Comparing to Cathay or Qatar where I would be treated as a king even in Economy. 🤷🏼‍♂️ No such treatment is needed though, give me a smile a simple hello and I'm more than happy.
