Can someone please tell me whats going on here?!! I called that number to find out why am i receiving all of these verification codes via text but can’t seem to get anyone on the phone. Does anyone know what business is connected to that number 855-797-1508? I feel like I’m being scammed…… This coming Leo Season will be my 20th anniversary of having this cell number. This may be a sign that the time has come to change my number…..

Two factor authentication (2FA) is a must on all your financial accounts but if you are getting those code verification messages by text message, you are putting yourself at risk. SMS, or Simple Messaging System (think green bubble), is insecure. It’s not encrypted and sent as plaintext. Bloomberg and Lighthouse Reports shared an investigation in which a million text messages with 2FA codes were visible to a Swiss telecom company - Fink Telecom Services in June 2023. These messages often have the code as well as the sender and recipient. With all the hacked data out there, it’s not difficult to put together a profile and potentially gain access. You should be using an authenticator app, which rotates codes every 30-60 seconds, such as the Google Authenticator app (free). It’s far more secure than text messages anyone can intercept.
