Here’s an overview of my new fav jumper - the Lumme Pullover by @sari_n_ ! I feel like this would actually be a good introduction to colourwork sweater - it’s only knit with two colours at any one time and you don’t actually have to catch any floats. The fit is also the best of any circular yoke jumper I’ve tried, thanks to the short rows! They’re optional but I think make a huge difference. I knit this in @knit_picks Wool of the Andes worsted in Green Tea Heather and Cloud, and these colours are so me! Spent all my wool wash budget on yarn, so I used my regular shampoo and a hair mask to soak this sweater overnight. The wool absolutely bloomed after blocking and filled in any uneven stitches or tension issues. Finished the entire color work yoke to realize a tiny mistake. Well of course I had to frog to that point. I also decided to block it to make sure my tension is good. So happy to report that it looks great and it’s sitting nice and flat and no puckering 🙌🏻 so back on my needles it goes. 😊♥️ I’m so in love with this sweater. I am a big proponent of blocking projects mid-project, especially when it comes to color work. The yoke on my #lummepullover was looking really lumpy, but after I hit it with the steam setting on my iron, it smoothed out a lot. When I properly soak and block it, I think any concerning tension issues will be sorted! I’m knitting this project with some peace fleece that’s been hanging over my head for 2 years. The shade of blue is so warm, I was unsure about it. But I’m happy to have found some leftover yarns that it works with! Now that I’ve overcome the color, I am dealing with the texture 🫣 For some reason, the yarn really drags across my metal needles. Even on 5.5 mm needles, it feels tight. It’s a shame cause I really wanted to love it 😭 It’s milled in the US with US grown wool and mohair. Maybe I need to give another color a try?
