Lux Foundry is a beautiful cafe located in Brunswick, Melbourne. The cafe is an 1886 heritage listed warehouse which was formerly the Brunswick Gas and Coke Company!! The space is so perfect and ideal for a summer brunch, with heaps of shady trees and ample umbrellas to escape the heat! We ordered the pulled pork benedict and the avocado and heirloom tomato My favourite dish out of the two was the pulled pork Benedict which featured slow cooked birria pork shoulder, a crispy potato hash, smashed chilli peas, poached eggs, apple cider hollandaise and a bacon crumb! The pork was so tender, the contrast and balance of flavours was perfect! The crispy hash could’ve been a bit more crispy as there were a few large bits of potato which took away from the crunch appeal. We also loved the avocado and heirloom tomato with stracciatella & a black olive crumb! This was a very refreshing and easy to eat dish! I would’ve preferred a different style of bread but overall it was a great dish! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE SALTED BEEF SANDWICH. This was absolutely divine, perfectly salted beef and absolutely juicy, with the funky Swiss cheese and that toasted bread, jeez loueezz a BANGER! 🔥 The wifey’s dish was just alright, she didn’t taste the Mexican inspired vibe and felt the potatoes a bit too oily.
