Use the link in bio and get our complete video guide to land navigation today, for an affordable price. Learn the map and compass from a-z. Here is a field expedient method of taking a bearing/azimuth without using a protractor. This means it can be done on maps without a grid overlay. The grid overlay on this USGS quad is “township and range” which we do not use for orienting the map or directions. I know there will be comments on azimuth vs bearing. An azimuth is just a 360 bearing and vice versa. Different disciplines have different uses for these terms, but in land nav we can use them interchangeably. Some militaries refer to bearings in quadrants with a direction attached, and will always be between 1-90. Some use a 360 bearing. Refer to our previous uploads if you wish to learn to orient your map, and to adjust for magnetic declination. #survival #bushcraft #hiker #adventure #prepper #backpacking #travel #camping #landnav #compass

Lenz's Law states that the direction of an electric current induced in a conductor by a changing magnetic field opposes changes in the initial magnetic field. #physics #magnetism eddy current Video Source: @tamuphysastr ( TAMU Physics and Astronomy Department)

This tiny new device can navigate using quantum physics rather than GPS! Normally, a pilot needs four satellites to figure out its location…but this device uses atoms that act like compass needles sensitive to earth’s magnetic field, which is different everywhere! So it can record the magnetic “fingerprint” anywhere, no satellites needed! For more optimistic science and tech stories, follow along! #science #magnet #GPS #quantum #technology

🔩🧲 Magnetic Wonder: How to Make a Rotor Spin Without Wires? ⚡️🔄 In this experiment, we see how two ring magnets make an electric motor rotor spin. Is this even possible? Let’s break it down! 🤔👇 🔬 The Physics Behind It: When the magnets are properly positioned, they create a magnetic field (B), which interacts with the metallic parts of the rotor. Depending on the design, different phenomena can occur: 1️⃣ Eddy Current Induction (Foucault Currents) When a conductive rotor moves within a changing magnetic field, eddy currents arise due to Faraday’s Law: 📌 EMF = - dΦ/dt Where: 🔹 EMF – Electromotive force (in Volts, V). 🔹 Φ – Magnetic flux (in Webers, Wb). 🔹 t – Time (in seconds, s). 🔹 dΦ/dt – The rate of change of magnetic flux. These currents generate their own magnetic field, which interacts with the original field, causing movement. 2️⃣ Magnetic Push Effect In certain configurations, magnets can create a non-uniform field, leading to a “pushing” effect on the rotor, forcing it to spin. 3️⃣ Attraction and Repulsion of Magnets If the rotor has ferromagnetic elements, it will try to reach a position of minimum energy, creating motion as it adjusts itself. 🤓 Conclusion: Is This Real? Yes! But for stable rotation, the magnets and rotor must be precisely aligned. Without electrical power, this effect will only work under specific conditions. 📌 What do you think of this experiment? How to make a compass using a piece of magnetite and a needle. How to magnetize a needle to find the magnetic north and navigate in the wild. You can do so by using a piece of magnetite, a magnet or by scratching one side of the needle with your knife. Make sure that the water is perfectly still and the leaf can move freely. #bushcraft #asmr #compass #outdoors

Compass error refers to the discrepancy between a compass reading and the true magnetic direction. This error can arise from various factors, including magnetic declination, which is the angle between magnetic north and true north, and deviation caused by local magnetic fields from nearby metal objects or electrical equipment. Understanding compass error is essential for accurate navigation, particularly in wilderness settings or during maritime travel. Accurate readings can be achieved by accounting for these errors, ensuring a more reliable and effective navigation experience. #CompassError #Navigation #WildernessSurvival #MaritimeTravel #MagneticDeclination #AccurateNavigation #OutdoorSkills #MapReading #SurvivalSkills #Geography #fyp #viral #follow #viral #reelinstagram #reelitfeelit

Honestly the more I learn about electro magnetism the more my mind is blown. Nondestructive centripetal charge collapse into a negentropic longitudinal compression wave cascade that is the physics of bliss, ancestral memory, memory retention after death, free unlimited energy, the physics of alchemy, and the science behind creator experiencing itself through creation. This is just one tiny example of the power accessible through this technology… Video : @map_of_science_ #electroculturegardening #magnetism #physics #energy #consciousness #zeropoint #electromagnetism

This magnetic field visualization is created using ferrocell. A ferrocell uses a thin layer of ferrofluid between glass and LED light to reveal magnetic field patterns. The light bends along the magnetic field lines, creating colorful visualizations of magnetic flux.
