The biggest mistake… Shopping at hobby lobby, home goods, TJ max etc, and getting hauls of all the over the top, in your face seasonal decor. Too many bunnies, fake carrots, hippity hop signs, garlands, mugs, pillows with sayings, cheap flowers and plastic eggs. It’s way too much. Pass🥴. Save money and time and learn to create a spring feeling home and enjoy the season in simple ways that are more elevated, memorable, feel fresh, and don’t require storing dozens of tubs of cheap decor. Here are some quick ideas to get you started for spring: -change pillow covers and stems, two of the easiest things to swap -pick two spring colors to incorporate -deep clean, spring clean( this makes a huge difference alone) -declutter, it’ll feel fresh subtracting vs piling on more -light a candle that smells like the season, fresh lemon, tomato vine, or sea salt scents -bake/cook spring foods and treats like lemon bars, salads, fruit pizzas, tarts, lemon rosemary chicken… -bring out light airy blankets -change bedding and include soft spring tones and colors -watch seasonal movies -limit bunnies or specific decor, like two bunnies on a coffee table -have a picnic in the yard or a bbq -plant flowers or a new tree -create a spring drink (doesn’t have to include alcohol) make mojitos or lemonade -invest in new pjs and a silk robe -buy fresh flowers for the home -host brunch -have a spa day at home -put together a spring puzzle Your home can feel very in season without piles of decor and I hope you’ll follow along @simpleolivehaus as I share how I enjoy the season without all the excess. 🌸 *to each their own but if you want an elevated feeling home without managing tons of seasonal decor invest in quality over quantity. There’s something about a simple organic Easter table that feels like stepping into a quieter, more beautiful time. This heirloom-inspired DIY Easter egg wreath centerpiece is made from 12 brown eggs, delicate baby’s breath, and the sweetest moss bunny tucked into the center — the kind of detail that makes a spring brunch table feel intentional and timeless. Gently crack the tops of the eggs and pour them into a dish (I used mine for a cozy breakfast casserole). Rinse the shells well with hot water and allow them to dry completely. Using a hot glue gun, attach the eggs into a wreath shape. Tuck small sprigs of baby’s breath into each shell for that soft garden look. Finish with a moss bunny in the center for the most charming Easter tablescape centerpiece. It’s elegant, budget-friendly, and feels like something you’d find at a spring luncheon in the Hamptons or on an old New England estate. If you’re hosting Easter brunch, planning a spring tablescape, or simply craving natural, romantic decor — this is such a beautiful place to begin. Comment “EGG” and I’ll send you the link to the moss bunnies I used 🤍🐰 #EasterBrunch #HamptonsStyle #SpringTablescape #EasterDecorIdeas #ElegantEntertaining OldMoneyAesthetic SpringHosting NaturalEasterDecor HeirloomHome
