Perris City Enginner John Pourkazemi explains plans for infrastructure in Perris going forward and what's involved in maintaining our local streets and roads. ______________________ El ingeniero de la Ciudad de Perris, John Pourkazemi, presenta los planes de infraestructura de la ciudad para los próximos años y lo que implica el mantenimiento de nuestras calles y carreteras locales.

The Perris City Council is right now weighing whether to approve the Harvest Landing project, a major redevelopment proposal from Howard Industrial Partners, a logistics and commercial real estate firm with projects across Southern California. The plan would bring a regional shopping center, a last-mile parcel hub and up to 615 homes in a later phase. Supporters say it would create jobs, boost the local economy and add parks and sports fields. Opponents argue the project would still function like a large warehouse development project, increasing pollution, truck traffic and noise in Perris. They point to the company’s Bloomington Business Park Specific plan project, which displaced families and is now in court, as a warning about potential long-term impacts. Former Fresno County Supervisor and Councilmember Henry Perea explains why he believes transportation funding decisions should stay with elected leaders, not unelected groups.

A penny tax is being proposed in Perris. This tax would stay local and could be dedicated to public safety. What do you think—would you support it and come out to vote? #OurCity #PublicSafety #PennyTax #CivicEngagement YourVoiceMatters CommunityFirst PerrisCA

Peñitas is growing right in front of us. We’re unlocking 65 acres of commercial ground. Right off Business 83. Helping a city transform in real time is the coolest part. Grateful to be on this project. If you want to see how it turns out, follow along.

UPDATED: The Perris City Council on Tuesday voted to certify the project’s environmental review and approve the Harvest Landing Specific Plan. The project covers more than 300 acres near Interstate 215. It replaces previously planned warehouses with a large parcel hub facility and commercial retail space. Developer Tim Howard of Howard Industrial Partners told councilmembers the site is expected to bring thousands of jobs and attract major retailers, along with a proposed hospital. Howard also said the development would fund infrastructure improvements and include a new sports park. Supporters of the project, including local soccer teams and the Perris Chamber of Commerce, said Harvest Landing would bring new sports amenities, jobs and shopping to Perris. But opponents from local environmental justice groups said Howard has a poor track record. They pointed to the 213-acre Bloomington Business Park project, where hundreds of homes were demolished and the site has yet to be built. Mayor Michael Vargas says Harvest Landing answers long-standing calls for commercial retail in the city. City officials say a second council hearing is still required to finalize the project’s development agreement and conditions of approval before construction can begin. #perris #warehousing #inlandempire #journalism #newswire

📣 Community Update: Harvest Landing Today I had a meaningful one-on-one conversation with the developer about what Perris residents truly need — real amenities, housing, community sports, local jobs, and spaces our families can enjoy without leaving our city. This doesn’t mean we stop asking questions. It means we keep showing up, demanding full plans (not pieces), and pushing for development that reflects our voices. Perris deserves to be respected — not used. More updates coming. Thank you for standing with me. 💚#PerrisCA #CityOfPerris #PerrisCommunity #HarvestLanding #CommunityUpdate CommunityFirst RespectNotUsed BuildingBetterPerris OurPerris ResidentVoices SmartGrowth LocalLeadership PerrisFuture
