MASKED Animated digital art for an immersive experience Jalal Luqman In my immersive story experience titled "Masked," I put the viewer in a first-person view, mimicking the screen proportion of a video game. The story in the artwork starts with a beautiful, tranquil garden with butterflies and roses, and then the scene is abruptly interrupted with the appearance of a person in a yellow biohazard suit who forces us to wear a mask and be quarantined. "Masked" takes the viewer on a dreamy yet realistic journey of how we have been affected by the pandemic. “Masked” explores our increased susceptibility to change and our acceptance of technology. After we remove the mask, we find the lines between what is real and what is imagined are blurred. Robots and holograms become a normal addition to our real and virtual worlds.
