🎚️ Mixing doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes you’re not stuck — you’re just overthinking. If you’ve been on the same beat too long, step away, clear your ears, and come back fresh. Here are 5 basic tips for better mixes 🎧👇 1️⃣ Start with levels, not plugins Get your volume balance right before touching EQ or compressors. 2️⃣ Leave headroom Turn everything down. Your master shouldn’t be clipping while you’re still mixing. 3️⃣ EQ with purpose Cut before you boost. Remove what’s hurting the sound instead of stacking more. 4️⃣ Use reference tracks Compare your beat to pro mixes to check bass, brightness, and overall balance. 5️⃣ Take ear breaks If it starts sounding “off,” your ears are tired — not your mix. As always, each mix is different but here are some general mistakes to avoid when working with reverb to achieve more professional sounding mixes! 🎛️🎧 Also, sometimes one reverb is exactly what you want- I’ve used a single reverb in many of my mixes but usually having a at least 2 reverbs can help bring more dimension and depth to your mix.
