Multiplication Top Trumps is a brilliant way to practise times tables without it feeling repetitive. All you need is a set of multiplication cards for the tables your child is working on. Split them evenly between players. Turn one over at the same time, answer the calculation… and the highest product wins both cards. Simple. Fast. Surprisingly addictive. When the numbers are complementary, the multiplication’s elementary 🤓 Complementary pairs are two numbers with the same tens digit, and ones digits that add up to ten. Because the pattern doesn’t repeat for 10 whole turns… which forces students to rely on strategy, not rote learnt facts.
