Really easy mending technique to fix a hole in a knit jumper 💚 I found this jumper in a charity shop & it had a little hole in the shoulder but loved the colour and knew all it needed was a little darn 🪡 Steps: - Get needle and wool or embroidery thread (you want the thread or wool you use to match the weight of the yarn used to make the jumper so I went for embroidery thread as is it was the most similar!) - Stitch vertical lines over the hole making sure it is wider than the hole and all the stitches are close together - Using another piece of thread, weave horizontally over the hole, under and over the vertical stitches - Keep going till the hole is fully covered - Finished!! #darningtutorial #mending #mendingmatters #knitjumper #darning

Приготвяме конец и игла, и започваме. Тук използвам традиционен кръстат бод, наричан още “Jüjizashi”. Следваме редовете като между тях оставяме малка примка конец. След като е готово, накисваме във вода докато стабилизаторът се разтвори или алтернативно пускаме в пералнята. Оставяме да изсъхне и изглаждаме. Готово! Като нови! Part 2 Once the patch is sewn on, cut a piece of water-soluble stabilizer to the desired size and attach it to the area you’ll be embroidering. Gather your thread and needle, and let’s get started. Here I’m using a traditional cross-stitch, also known as “Jüjizashi.” We follow the rows, leaving a small loop of thread between them. Once finished, soak in water until the stabilizer dissolves, or alternatively, put it in the washing machine. Let it dry and iron it. Done! Like new! A wonderful way to repair a favorite garment using beautiful Sashiko embroidery. I wanted to try adding some colour to this distressed area. It’s not perfectly neat but I just thought I’d experiment before buying myself a mini mending loom.
