Microcement over tile… and yes, it’s actually made for that. The Concretta microcement from @meodedpaint is specifically formulated to go directly over existing tile. All you have to do is make sure the tile is really clean — that’s it for prep. If you’re applying it over other surfaces (like I did on the brand new drywall for my range hood), you use their primer first. It’s almost like a primer mixed with sand so it gives the microcement something to grip onto. Once it sets for about 30 minutes to an hour, you can go back over it with a damp sponge to knock down any high spots and smooth it out. Figuring that out made the whole process so much faster because I didn’t feel like I had to be overly perfectionist during application. After everything dried for at least 48 hours, I applied three coats of their sealant. It goes on clear, dries matte, and completely waterproofs and protects the surface from staining. And after nine months in a very busy kitchen, I’ve had zero staining issues at all. This product can be tinted to almost any color, works in bathrooms, on floors, countertops — and I’m planning to use it in my master shower this spring. I would 100,000% use this again. It was surprisingly fun to work with and has held up beautifully. I BRAVEEEED UP! It’s started and we are GOING FOR IT! Big aim… to have a working shower by next week because I am over this no bathroom thing!
