Here is exactly what happens when the primary connection drops: • The replica attempts to reconnect based on your MASTER_RETRY_COUNT. • If that fails, it checks your pre-configured source list. • It automatically connects to the next highest-weighted server (e.g., your Secondary Master). • Replication resumes. No manual CHANGE MASTER commands. No downtime alerts spiraling into a fire drill.
