📍 Ming Dynasty restaurant 明朝 (ming kee) Spui 170, 2511 BW Den Haag Sharing my fav chinese dim sum restaurant 😋🫶 There are not a lot of dim sum restaurants in the Netherlands, as chefs that are specialized in dim sum are very rare! But I heard from others, that the dim sum restaurants in the Netherlands are really good compared to other countries!! Everything is handmade, and you really see and taste it in the food! You should really order a ‘dong nai cha’ or chinese cold milk tea, it’s so good trust me 🧋They have such a big variety of dim sum dishes and other big chinese dishes, all perfect for sharing! The chicken is halal! My fav dim sum: peking duck pancakes, rice rolls with filling, fried squid, vietnamese spring rolls & the scallion pancakes! My fav dishes: sweet & sour fried fish, mapo tofu, lamb chops, he feng/thicc noodles My fav dessert: ‘ma lai gao/sponge cake’, sweet bun with custard or salted egg yolk, mango fish shaped pudding & the water chestnut cake! 🍜 Ha Ming Kee If you have kept up with the history of Ha Ming Kee, you’ll know that they’ve been around for decades and it is a family run business. Their branch in Sai Ying Pun used to be my go-to in uni, but they certainly have been through highs and lows with many branches closing down over the years. I’m happy to see that some difficult times, they seem to have made a comeback with a number of different locations across the city. Their fried fish block corners (魚片頭) are a massive hit and it’s only $48 with the noodles. Of course, portions aren’t massive but it’s good enough for lunch.
