I didn’t buy a walking pad to “get fit.” I bought it because I knew I needed to start moving differently. physically, mentally, and emotionally. ⚡️comment PAD for the link to my fave pad⚡️ Coming from someone who found every excuse under the sun to not move my body for over a decade, take it from me when I say that motivation won’t come knocking, and in the off chance it does, motivation doesn’t = intentional consistency. Here’s what happened when I became consistent AF: 🪩 I started seeing myself differently. Watching myself move in the mirror, I stopped focusing on flaws and started noticing my power. It’s also f*cking fun to act like you’re a big deal pop star in front of the mirror, so there’s that. 🪩 I built confidence through consistency. Every time I get on my pad, it’s a reminder to myself that I am keeping the promise I made myself and that is what creates real confidence. There’s actual science behind what happens in your brain when you stay consistent on something. 🪩 I embodied her energy. And that’s the most exciting part! I am telling you that putting the walking pad in front of the mirror is what makes the difference! If confidence and self-image is something you struggle with you ESPECIALLY will benefit from this! And from that the MWM (MirrorWalk Method™)was born. 🪩 I put my walking pad in front of the mirror. 🪩 I turn on my “Confident Bitch” playlist. 🪩 I move. I strut. I pretend I’m a headlining pop star (but really!) It fkn works, friend❤️. Did you know that just 10 minutes of walking can boost mood by increasing dopamine (motivation), endorphins (feel-good hormones), and serotonin (emotional balance)? And did you know that regular walking improves the brain’s ability to regulate stress response and emotional resilience? “Oh she bought a walking pad, big fkn deal!” Got that right! Big fkn deal indeed! It’s been the best purchase of my 2024 year and not only has it brought me to a place of finally wanting to move my body again and having FUN doing it, it’s also brought me a community of women stepping into their own light. Literally. Are you walking in front of the mirror yet? If not, get to steppin! You won’t regret ❤️

Do you know why the arms sometimes end up held behind the back when walking? It’s often not about the arms at all. In this case, the head is sitting quite far forward. The body doesn’t feel comfortable letting it drift any further ahead, so it finds a way to counterbalance — by gently pulling the upper body back. One way it does that is by holding the arms behind. Clever… but it comes at a cost. When the arms aren’t free to swing, the natural rotation through the body starts to disappear. The waist and back stop doing the work they’re designed for, and other areas quietly begin to take the strain. Walking should feel like a whole-body rhythm. When one part gets a little stuck, the body will always find a workaround. The key is helping it find a better option. If you’d like to understand this more clearly, you can now watch my free 40-minute walking workshop on replay, where I break down one key part of walking that can unlock many of these patterns. DAY 22 of 90 MIRROR WORK 🪞🪞🪞 With all of the chaos of the world, it’s okay to just BE. There’s nothing we HAVE to do. Only things we GET to do. Today my little Stan wanted to join me in the mirror. He was relaxed, felt safe, and let out a little 💨 lol. Yes there’s a time and a place for action, and then there’s time to sit still and be at peace. This Mirror of Life I’ve created is soooooo good. And it just keeps getting better and better. Just soaking in the love & little surprises today! #mırrorwork #peace #bestill #breathe #ilovelife 🤍🤍🤍

Walk + VOR (Head turn) = Train Your Brain Most people think walking is just movement. But your brain sees it as navigation. And navigation is survival. When you add a horizontal Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex (VOR) while walking, you’re training one of the most important systems for stability, balance, and confidence in movement. Because your brain’s job is simple: Keep your vision clear while your body moves. If it can’t do that well… It will slow you down, tighten you up, or create tension. Here’s how to do it: • Pick a target straight ahead (eye level) • Start walking forward at a comfortable pace • Gently turn your head left and right • Keep your eyes locked on the target the entire time • Move slowly enough that the image stays clear What this trains: • Improves communication between your inner ear + eye muscles • Sharpens visual stability during movement • Enhances spatial awareness and navigation • Reduces unnecessary threat signals in the brain What I do differently: Before and after, I do a quick range of motion check (neck, shoulders, or toe touch). Why? Because it tells me how my brain is responding. • More range → my brain felt safer • Same range → neutral input • Less range → my brain perceived a threat You’re not guessing. You’re getting real-time feedback. The result? (If it was not a threat responds) More fluid walking. Better balance. Less tension. And this is the part most people miss: You’re improving the quality of the input your brain uses to decide if movement is safe. And when the brain senses uncertainty, it prioritizes protection over performance. Save this and try it on your next walk. #xpandhealth

Allow me to introduce you to the incredible “Infinity Walk” developed Dr. Sunbeck (she also wrote a book about it). She works primarily with children who have learning disabilities and as a result of her work, she found doing vestibular work helped them significantly. She had to come up with a way to give them vestibular exercises that was fun AND also integrated other movement characteristics, without assigning them “rehab drills” to perform. And so evolved the 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞. This looks super simple but when you actually try it on real people, it’s way harder than it looks and the results are PHENOMENAL🤯. From my advanced, high quality training with @zhealth_performance I learned that you can adapt, modify and play with different ways to make this relevant to your individual client’s needs. If you have a more advanced athlete you can add farmers carries, lunges, speed, perform cognitive tasks simultaneously and the list goes on…. If you work with an older population you can put them in an office chair or wheelchair and push them so they only need to focus on their eyes if they’re able to. Walking backwards isn’t just a trend. It increases quad activation, strengthens the VMO (knee stabilizer), reduces joint stress compared to forward walking, improves balance + coordination, and challenges your brain with new motor patterns. Translation: stronger knees, better stability, smarter training. Sometimes progress means changing direction. —- — —- —- #backwardwalking #kneerehab #glutesactivation #functionaltraining #movementismedicine
