These are Japan-only study methods students use to build scary retention + exam scores 👇 🔴Aka Sheet Active Recall Write key answers in orange → cover with a red sheet → test yourself instantly. Reading = comfort. Covering + recalling = results. ⏲️ Juku “Kaisetsu First” Rule After every question, spend 2× longer on the explanation than the question. Write a 1–2 line “why this is right / why I missed it” in your own words. 📝Shippai Note Every miss gets labeled: Concept / Reading / Careless / Time Then add ONE fix: “Next time I will ____.” This turns weak points into a checklist you can eliminate. 🪜Kumon-Style Small Steps (くもん式) Daily 10–20 minute drills, very easy → slightly harder only after 90%+ accuracy. Consistency + tiny upgrades = unstoppable. 🕒Akamon Loop (Secret A+ technique!) 🗒️There’s 100’s of note taking methods. Over the last 4 years, I’ve researched and used all of them to find 8 hyper effective methods which will help you learn faster and get the best grades of your life. Left: cue, Right: note taking, Bottom: summary 2️⃣ Note taking: write notes regularly 3️⃣ Cue: write questions for each piece of information on the right column 4️⃣ Summary: summarize the lecture 🙋🏽‍♂️Question Method: 1️⃣ Ask one key question per slide 2️⃣ These questions don’t need to be complicated: “What is x” “How does x link to y” “What are the 3 components of x” 3️⃣Focus on writing the questions, after class you’ll answer these questions 🗺️ Mind Map Method: 1️⃣Draw a big circle in the center of the page, with the main lecture topic in the circle 2️⃣Branch off from that main topic into multiple sub topics, which each have their own branches to smaller sub sub topics 3️⃣Add context under each sub topic, at max add 1-2 sentences 4️⃣Use colors, branches, images, and symbols to maximize the use of your right brains creativity instead of just your left brains linearity to foster deeper understanding 💜 Love you guys! #notetaking #collegenotes #howtotakenotes #notes #collegestudent
