Going through my camera roll from the past six months (when I was on a little hiatus from this account) and had to give @ArmchairCollective a proper shoutout 💗 We’ve been a few times now and I just genuinely love the food here. It’s such a good spot for breakfast or lunch; in my opinion one of those places that just never disappoints! 👌 My husband has tried the burger and the eggs benedict and was very happy both times… My parents loved the fish and chips when they visited, and my daughter had the French toast which was INCREDIBLY delicious… like not your standard café version at all. 🤤 Everything we’ve had has been so well done, and I have to say the service has always been really friendly too, which just makes the whole experience even better. 🥰 Also not sponsored or gifted in any way — just genuinely loved it and can’t wait to go back 🫶 I’m already dreaming about my next avo toast lol 🥑 Off to plan a little lunch date there with my husband soon… woop woop 💁🏼‍♀️☺️ #northernbeaches #monavale #sydneycafes #brunchspots #lunchdate

In Sydney’s northern suburbs is the former Hornsby quarry. It’s not far from the Hornsby railway station. Recently the local council has opened a new walking track and lookout. The Crusher Plant and the amazing Southern Lookout platform are what everyone’s checking out now. It’s Sydney best new place for a healthy walk. Excavated rock and soil from the Northconnex motorway tunnel was transported here to partially fill-in the old quarry. In a twist, the quarry was originally mined for its blue metal and the product was used to build major roads like the old Pacific Highway, Warringah Road, Mona Vale Road and Marsden Road. The former owner - CSR - took advantage of now redundant state legislation to inform the local council that they couldn’t find a buyer for the site and they had to acquire the quarry. The $25 million purchase resulted in a levy being applied on council rates for 10 years. The quarry is a 10 minute walk from Hornsby railway station. There’s limited parking spots at Hornsby Quarry. If visiting from the railway station or Hornsby CBD, I’d recommend walking into the quarry through the northern end of the Hornsby pool, and walk down and up the Heritage Steps. I hope you enjoy visiting the first stage of the new Hornsby Park.
