A museum in Paris you shouldn’t miss 🪷✨ Musée de l’Orangerie – Monet’s Water Lilies #ParisArt #MuseeDeLOrangerie #Monet #WaterLilies #AestheticVibes

Spring is officially here in Paris… which means it’s time to go back to Giverny 🌸 @maisonjardinsclaudemonet If you’re visiting between April and November, Claude Monet’s House and Gardens is open—and it’s one of the most beautiful day trips you can do 🪻 Getting there is easy: Take the Normandy train from Saint-Lazare station to Vernon (about 45 minutes), then either a short shuttle, bike ride, or taxi into Giverny. Walk through Monet’s iconic gardens (yes, the water lilies are that dreamy), explore his house, and then make a proper afternoon of it with lunch at La Dîme de Giverny—one of my favourite spots for a relaxed, chic countryside lunch. @ladimedegiverny 🎟️ Entry to Monet’s house & gardens is around €13 📅 Open April → November Save this for your next Paris trip—this is one of those places that truly lives up to the hype. Two visions, one artist Claude Monet (1840–1926) is one of the greatest masters of Impressionism, a movement that seeks to capture light and fleeting impressions rather than precise details. But from the 1910s onward, his life took a dramatic turn: Monet developed severe cataracts, a condition that gradually makes the eye’s lens opaque. His vision became blurred, colors shifted toward yellow and brown, and contrasts slowly faded. The condition progressed to the point where he was considered legally blind in medical terms, meaning his vision was extremely limited and no longer allowed him to properly distinguish shapes and colors. Despite this major loss of sight, Monet refused to stop painting. He continued working in his garden in Giverny, guided as much by visual memory as by sensation. This condition profoundly transformed his style: outlines faded, colors became more intense or surreal, and his late works moved away from classical representation toward an almost abstract form. His famous Water Lilies series was no longer just landscapes: it became a sensory experience, an inner interpretation of the world, born from altered vision but still deeply creative. This painting by Claude Monet captures a moment so perfect, he wanted to hold onto it forever. “Woman with a Parasol”, created in 1875, shows an interruption of a casual family stroll. Monet looked up toward his beloved wife, Camille, and their son, Jean, and captured them just as the wind picked up—Camille’s skirt blowing, the grass swaying, the sky alive with movement. Monet’s wife, Camille, appeared in many of his early paintings. Their life together wasn’t easy—they faced family disapproval, poverty, and illness—but they stayed by each other’s side despite it all. Camille died young, at just 32, after battling uterine cancer. Monet was shattered. In the spirited brushstrokes of “Woman with a Parasol,” their love lives on today. __ 🖼 Claude Monet, “Woman with a Parasol - Madame Monet and Her Son,” 1875, oil on canvas, 39 x 31 in., Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mellon 📍 West Building, Main Floor, Gallery 85 🎥 Animation designed by @andrey.zakirzyanov . . . . #art #painting #history #monet #impressionism #love #amor #flowers #france #french #arte #animation #beautiful #beauty #belle #explore #explorepage
