It’s at @monkeypodkitchen at Whaler’s Village on Kaanapali. 🍹 Monkeypod has an amazing happy hour, from 3:30-5pm all their handcrafted cocktails are $4 off, and apps and pizzas are 50% off. It’s crowded, so get your name on the list and then walk around @whalersvillage until your table is ready! I walked up to an open spot at the bar on the first trip, and only waited about five minutes for a table the second time. The lilikoi foam is the bestttt part!

Maui Day 4&5 (Thursday & Friday) Thursday was a very chill day poolside. We had coffee on the Lanai and hit the pool by 9 am and stayed till 3pm. I allowed the inner child in me try the shaved ice, its sweet but I do see why kids love it. After we left the pool we headed to Maui Brewing on the boardwalk for dinner and a Mai Tai. Wait a minute did I just find the best Mai Tai in Maui????? It was a good mix of juice and boozy rum and topped with a whipped pineapple. This is what I envisioned monkey pod would taste like when I first saw them. It was delicious and I will go back to make sure but if your in Maui looking for a real good mai tai go give it try it was yummy 😋 One of my favourite things to do at our resort is watch the Kio fish swim. They had so many and some of them were huge. The next morning we decided to do breakfast out at castaway. It was about a 15 minute walk and was nice to get out and stroll the other direction of the beach walk area and it was a nice sunny morning for a stroll. We went back and had another pool day before we got back to our room and got ready to head to Dukes for dinner. Before Dukes we tried the Westin Mai Tai but it was made in a tall glass and was too much juice not enough rum. We are not having luck with the Mai Tai’s this trip cause these were pretty good the last time we were here but I guess that was 3 years ago and things change or maybe it was just an off day. Off to Dukes for dinner, we had a great seat with an amazing view. Dinner was delicious I had Ahi Tuna and Dean had prime rib. Dukes has always been a good dinner and we go everytime we are in Hawaii. Of course we did have a Mai Tai and they were consistent but never been my absolute fav as they can be in more juice side too. Dean found a hat and back to the room and I got our luggage organized as we leave late tomorrow 😞

SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP TO MAUI 🏝️ My Top Favorite Restaurants: 1. Kula Bistro (Out of the way but 100% worth it and no reservations required) 2. Mamas Fish House BOOK RESERVATIONS 4-6+ MONTHS IN ADVANCE IF YOU WANT TO GET IN (get the curry, the fish with capers and the banana cobbler) 3. Dukes Beach House (get the filet mignon or seafood risotto) 4. Mala Tavern (the signature ahi is insane or whole fish with black bean sauce) 5. Monkeypod- (killer burger with truffle fries + the gnocchi dish is way good too) 6. Braddah Huts Food Truck in Hana (the ribs are the best I’ve ever had) 7. Tin Roof- take out only. (Anything and everything is good) 8. Papa Ohanas- (cinnamon rolls + da local kine breakfast croissant) 9. Gazebo- (get the fried rice and the banana macadamia nut pancakes) 10. Merrimans (expensive but worth it.) Reservations get released 30 days in advance. Get a reservation around 5:30-6 so you can watch the sunset. The views are absolutely breathtaking. 11. Leodas- Great sandwiches, burgers but you’re here for the Banana Cream Pie. It’ll change your life. 12. Joeys Kitchen: The short ribs are bomb 13. Sergio’s Mexican: great local Mexican food 14. Ulu Kitchen: You’re here for the lobster ravioli and the broccoli salad Top treats/desserts 1. Lilikoi Colada Bar from Kula Bistro 2. Lilikoi Bar from Kula Bistro 3. Sunshine Pie from Kula Bistro 4. Sugar Beach Bake Shop Lilikoi Key Lime Pie + Malasadas 5. Banana Cream pie from Leodas Pie Shop. 6. Banana Cobbler from Mamas Fish House 7. Macadamia nut cookie sandwich from Kula Bistro 8. Julia’s Best Banana Bread with Lilikoi Butter. Google them for their roadside location (it’s at the top of the island past Kapalua and they have a little tent setup on your way to the blowhole) 9. Ko’olina is a beautiful place to do so many things without having to leave. Resorts like the Aulani, shops & boutiques, Island Market is also a grocery store, the Monkey Pod Kitchen restaurant, beach 🏝️, golf course….so beautiful out there!!
