Attention boat owners, stop traveling down the road with this latch down. It is only designed to hold the motor while servicing the trim system or keeping the motor out of the water when docked or moored. Yes you and your buddy might have gotten away with it before but its not the correct way and definitely can and will break your motor. I recommend a motor support of some kind transom saver (where they’ll work) rubber stopper for the trim ram, h beam rubber block on the tilt ram, 2x2, 2x4, down, and strap something other than just letting it bounce on the latch or the hydraulic system. #outboard #boating #yamaha #boatlife #maintenance

If you find yourself in difficulty, call 999. ✅ If stand up paddleboarding, wear a quick release belt on moving water. This will allow you to detach yourself from your board and avoid entrapment. Practice releasing your leash before getting on the water. ✅ Know your limits. Plan your paddle around your ability and skills. Consider taking a lesson or course to increase your skills and confidence. 🌧️ With more rain forecast over the weekend, be aware of rising river levels and increased flow. High water levels and faster flow can make it more difficult to spot hazards in the water and push you towards them. Marine Firefighting is a skill taught by @lacolifeguards in order to hone specialized efforts for the unique challenges presented by the marine environment. Various scenarios were simulated including boat fires at anchor, adrift, moored, and victim retrieval. There was a great turnout with multiple agencies from up and down the California coast.
