“As I was swiftly falling towards the ground, my family’s face flashed before my eyes…I was convinced ki meri maut aa chuki thi. The minute I hit the ground, everything disappeared for me…there was only pain. I wanted to scream…I WAS screaming, but my voice never came out…& suddenly everything went dark. You know, I was 8 when I went on my 1st trek. I guess that’s where this love for mountains began. As I grew older, I loved it even more. But it was in 2020, on the Kheerganga trail…ek taraf dhoop thi doosri taraf barsaat–I knew this was where I belonged. So poore lockdown me, I escaped into the mountains. By 2023, the company I was working at back then was ready to sponsor ₹16L for a 3-mountain expedition. With months to go, all I did was prepare for it. But life… had different plans. I was in Bir, paragliding, when suddenly I felt a jolt & heard people screaming from below–another paraglider had bumped into our parachute & torn it in half. An ‘Oh f*ck’ left my mouth. Suddenly we were hurling towards the ground–things happened so quickly–I fell & then blank… My eyes opened in the ambulance. I couldn’t get up. I had injured my spine severely. The doctor said, ‘Your recovery will take time.’ I asked, ‘Mai apne expeditions pe jaane se pehle theek ho jaunga?’ That’s when I got the blow of my life. He said, ‘Tum kabhi trek nahi kar paaoge.’ I was broken. For months, I was bed-ridden, went through bouts of depression & underwent treatment… Aisa laga jaise jeene ka kya fayda? But in June 2024, when I finally took my 1st step, I was happy. Aur ab main us ek kadam ko 2 aur 2 ko 10 karne me lag gaya. By July 2024, I was walking without support. I then went against my doctors & trained–day after day. And… it paid off. Because in October 2024 I left for my 1st trek since the accident–Rudranath. Everyone was scared–Maa, Papa, bhai… But I had to do this… for myself. I still remember the moment I reached the peak–I wept; tears of joy, tears that washed away all the pain. And I haven’t stopped since. How could I? When I beat the biggest fall of my life–not just from the sky, but from a place I didn’t think I’d ever climb out. Giving up is just not in the blood sir!”

Climbing mountains in Ecuador. We had some extreme weather but all the best times. We had amazing summits on our acclimatization hikes. We saw wild life and unforgettable scenery. We challenged ourselves and made new friends. I can’t wait for the next adventure like this.
