🤯 This is the hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park that no one talks about.. 🥾If you want to discover the best hikes in Tennessee and beyond, make sure you’re following @thetennesseehiker! 📲 Share this with someone you want to go on this hike with! 🎒 Always remember to pack out what you pack in on your hikes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and LEAVE NO TRACE. This hike is one of my favorites in Tennessee and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s honestly one of the most underrated too. I feel like this a hike most people don’t hear about or skip when visiting the smokies because it’s in a more remote area of the park. There are a few trails that take you up to Mount Cammerer Via Low Gap Trail, Cosby Campground, or Appalachian Trail. I’ve only ever hiked via the Appalachian Trail and it was challenging but the views are so rewarding. The most iconic part of this hike is the historic western style fire lookout that you reach at the end of the trail, which you can actually go inside of and take in the breathtaking views of the Pigeon River Gorge and the rolling peaks of the Tennessee/North Carolina border. It is a must do hike for locals and visitors to do at least once in their life. 📍 Mount Cammerer Via Appalachian Trail 🥾 11.3 Miles Round Trip 📈 3,162ft Elevation Gain ⛰️ 4,928ft 🕰️ 7 Hours To Complete 🅿️ Parking Tags are required for vehicles parking for more than 15 minutes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Have you hiked to this epic fire tower lookout in Great Smoky Mountains National Park? Let me know in the comments and which hike I should check out next! #adventure #hiking #greatsmokymountains #travel

Charlie’s Bunion is a popular, strenuous 8-mile roundtrip hike in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, accessed from the Newfound Gap parking area via the Appalachian Trail. The trail is moderately challenging with 1,886ft elevation gain and takes roughly 4-5 hours to complete. The mountain’s summit offers one of the best viewpoints in the park. This is definitely a hike worth adding to your Tennessee hiking bucket list. 📍 Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN 🥾Charlies Bunion Trail (8.0 Miles) Moderate 🕰️ (4-5 Hours To Complete) 🅿️ Parking Permit Required Available Online or Via Kiosk Have you hiked Charlies Bunion in the smokies? Tell me a place that lives rent free in your brain 🫠 This song by @kkloowis showed up on my fyp and I ran to Spotify to save. 🌲This hike is in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is Forney Ridge Trail to Andrew’s Bald. It’s a 1.8 mile out and back (3.6 miles roundtrip) that starts from the Kuwohi parking lot. It takes you through the enchanted spruce-fir forest to the Andrew’s Bald, which is the highest grassy bald in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 🥾🌲🌿Know before you go: Access to this trail via Kuwohi Road is only open April 1- Nov 30. It is free to enter Great Smoky Mountains National Park. However, if you will be parked for longer than 15 minutes, you will need a parking tag, which are currently $5/day $15/wk. America the Beautiful passes are not a substitute. #forestfairv #granolagirl #forestcore #Hiking #smokymountains Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Hiking | Hikes in Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Andrews Bald | Forney Ridge Trail | Appalachian Mountains | Blue Ridge Mountains | Hiking in North Carolina | Fairy Core | Forest Core | Smoky Mountains |Travel | Outdoor Therapy | Foggy Vibes | Enchanted forest

SAVE this for your next trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park! I’m a former national park ranger, and these are the 5 things you need to know when visiting Great Smoky Mountains National Park 👇 1️⃣ Best time to visit Late spring is perfect for wildflowers, while mid-September through early November delivers some of the best fall colors in the country. Summer is the most popular time to visit. This is the most visited national park in the U.S., so expect crowds! Go early and avoid weekends when possible. 2️⃣ Don’t skip Cades Cove Loop for wildlife and historic scenery, plus Newfound Gap Road for sweeping mountain views across Tennessee and North Carolina. 3️⃣ Also worth your time Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail and Laurel Falls! Both are great options if you want a big payoff without committing to a full-day hike. 4️⃣ Best hike Alum Cave offers incredible views and variety, while Andrews Bald is a quieter option with rewarding scenery. 5️⃣ Ranger tip There is no cost to enter the park. But you will need a parking tag if you’re parked for more than 15 minutes anywhere in the park. One day pass is $5, and a week is $15 - you can purchase them online or in person. POV: You hike 5 miles up a mountain and this is the reward waiting for you at the top 👀🏔️ First, be sure to follow @haleylaurenandrews for more Tennessee gems you’ll want to add to your hiking list! ✨ Alright, now to the good stuff. Cliff Tops sits just below the summit of Mount LeConte and it’s easily one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Smokies/Tennessee. After the long climb, you’re met with an expansive vista, layered blue ridgelines, and some of the best sunrise and sunset light in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s a short walk from LeConte Lodge, which makes it a must hit if you’re staying overnight or pushing for the summit. Just be mindful near the edges since there are steep drop offs and no guardrails. I backpacked up last spring and camped at the shelter. I’m thinking next time I would like to try out staying at the lodge! Have you made it to Cliff Tops yet or is it still on your Smokies bucket list? 🏔️ #GreatSmokyMountains #TennesseeHiking #SmokyMountainView
