Okay you guys, time to spill the beans! How many drafts do you go through while editing??? Personally I have my initial first draft, of course. First round of edits is on the computer, taking care of the big inconsistencies and things I already knew I was going to have to fix. Second round of edits is things I think of while I’m doing my first round. Then I try to go through at least twice more to catch all the little things and make sure my prose and story is flowing how I want it too (these are more line edits and less developmental). So, in short, I usually have about 4-5 drafts, 4ish rounds of edits. While I read, I also have alpha and beta readers going through the manuscript as well, and my editor!
