Painting “Transubstantiation” in 2024. Oil on AlumaComp 36 x 60” 👉Original painting and prints available In my painting Transubstantiation I sought to meditate on the profound mystery made present at every Holy Mass. As I worked on the panel, I reflected on the moment when, through the power of the Holy Spirit and the words spoken by the priest, the bread and wine are changed in substance into the true Body and Blood of Christ. This is the sacrifice of Calvary made present again, offered to the Father by the Son in perfect obedience, and received by us through the life of the Most Holy Trinity. What appears ordinary to the senses becomes the living God Himself, given for the salvation of the world. My hope is that this painting draws the viewer into deeper reverence for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, where heaven and earth are united and Christ offers Himself to us in love. #catholicart #catholicartist #traditionalcatholic #religiouspainting #sacredart

Painting “Transubstantiation” oil on AlumaComp 36 x 60” 2024 ✅ signed, limited edition prints available at ericarmusik.com Transubstantiation is a visual meditation on the central mystery of the Catholic faith. With this painting I tried to paint the invisible reality of Christ’s real presence visible through solemn composition, sacred gesture, and reverent light, drawing on the long tradition of Eucharistic art that underscores both the majesty and mystery of our faith. #transubstantiation #catholicart #catholicartist #religiouspainting #sacredart

Painting the altar for my commission of “In Personal Christi” oil on panel 18 x 30” 2025 👉limited edition prints available In persona Christi - that a priest acts “in the person of Christ,” especially when he celebrates the sacraments. At the altar during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, he speaks the words of consecration not merely as himself, but as Christ the Head of the Church, so that it is truly Christ who offers and consecrates. This sacred reality reflects the teaching of the Catholic Church that Holy Orders configures the priest to Christ in a unique and indelible way for the service of His Body. #catholicart #catholicartist #traditionalcatholic #traditionalcatholicism #traditionallatinmass

Painting the ornate details of the alb and Chasuble for my painting of “The Ordination” oil on panel 18 x 24” 2023 In Ordination I sought to show what truly happens when a man is configured to Christ the Eternal High Priest. Jesus stands at the center, not distant, but actively sharing His priesthood, His bloody handprints marking the newly ordained as a visible sign that the priest belongs to the sacrifice of the Cross. The chalice is offered as both gift and burden, the vessel of Christ’s Precious Blood that the priest will hold again and again at the altar. Above and beside this moment stands the Blessed Mother, silent yet present, entrusted to every priest as his spiritual mother, guiding him in fidelity, suffering, and love as he offers his life with her Son for the salvation of souls. #catholicart #catholicartist #ordination #realisticpainting #sacredart

Painting the face of Saint John the Baptist for my Baptism of Christ commission. Oil on panel, 48 × 72 inches, 2018. Prints of the painting are available. I wanted this moment to reflect the profound gravity of the Baptism of Christ. In the tradition of Catholic sacred art, this scene is not merely narrative but theological: Saint John’s expression is a mix of restraint and intensity, that was inspired by Baroque masters who understood sacred realism as a vehicle for truth. I hope you enjoyed by depiction. #catholicart #catholicartist #johnthebaptist #sacredart #realisticpainting

Painting the stole for my Agnus Dei commission. (Sorry for that tape on my hand. I cut my finger while filming) In my Agnus Dei I sought to make visible the heart of our faith, Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. The lamb represents Christ’s innocence and purity, offered freely for our redemption, just as the Passover lamb was sacrificed in the Old Covenant. In the painting, the blood of the lamb flows into the chalice, uniting the sacrifice of the Cross with the Eucharistic sacrifice offered at every Mass, where Christ becomes truly present, Body and Blood, soul and divinity. For a traditional Catholic, the lamb and the chalice together proclaim the Paschal Mystery, reminding us that the sacrifice once offered on Calvary is made present on the altar, calling us to reverence, gratitude, and deeper communion with the Lamb who was slain. #catholicart #catholicartist #agnusdei #realisticpainting #sacredart

Painting the Martyrdom of Saint Peter, oil on panel 36 x 48” 2022 When I painted The Crucifixion of Saint Peter I wanted to enter into the quiet power of his final witness. In this moment I see Peter enduring the weight of his own martyrdom with grace and resolve, nailed to the wood he himself asked to be lifted up as a sign of his faith and humility, because he felt unworthy to die as Jesus did. Tradition tells us that this humble choice, crucified upside down in Rome under Nero, shows his utter fidelity to Christ and his role as the rock of our Church. In every brushstroke I tried to reflect his courage in the face of suffering and the way his surrender became a beacon of hope for all who follow Christ’s way of the cross. #catholicart #catholicartist #saintpeter #realisticpainting #sacredart

Varnishing the face of Jesus and the falling droplets of water for my Baptism of Christ painting, oil on AlumaComp 48 x 72” 2018. Prints available. I painted the face of Christ lifted upward toward the Father at the moment of His baptism with a quiet obedience and trust that feels both human and eternal. His eyes rise not in spectacle but in perfect surrender as the tiny droplets of water fall upon His brow and hair like a gentle anointing from heaven. In that upward gaze I sought to show the Son already offering Himself back to the Father before a single word is spoken from the sky. The water does not merely touch His skin but signifies the humility of God made man who steps into the river to sanctify it for all of us. As I worked I felt that His face had to hold peace strength and love at once because this is the beginning of His public offering of Himself for the salvation of the world. #catholicart #catholicartist #baptism #varnishing #sacredart

The Martyrs of Saint Andrew, oil on panel 36 x 48” 2023 The martyrdom of Saint Andrew speaks to the heart of every Catholic who longs to follow Christ without reserve. According to sacred tradition, he was condemned to die in Patras and bound to an X-shaped cross, refusing to be nailed because he did not consider himself worthy to die in the same manner as his Lord. For two days he preached Christ crucified to the crowds, embracing the Cross as his pulpit and his glory. In his final witness, Saint Andrew shows us that true discipleship is not measured by comfort or honor, but by fidelity unto death, trusting that the Cross is the sure path to resurrection. #catholicart #catholicartist #saintandrew #realisticpainting #sacredart

In this painting of the Calling of Saint Andrew, I sought to reflect the moment when Christ enters the ordinary rhythm of a fisherman’s life and transforms it forever by His divine call. I wanted Andrew to appear caught between earth and heaven, his nets still near him while his heart is already turning toward the Lord, because this is how grace truly works. Christ does not shout or force. He calls with authority born of love, and Andrew responds with immediate trust and obedience. For a traditional Catholic soul, this moment speaks to the courage required to abandon self reliance and place one’s entire life in the hands of Christ. Andrew leaves behind what he knows in order to follow the Truth Himself, and in doing so becomes not only a disciple but a fisher of souls. This calling reminds us that sanctity begins with listening, humility, and the willingness to say yes when the Lord passes by. 👉my apologies for the misspellings on the title at the start of the video. #catholicart #catholicartist #johnthebaptist #realisticpainting sacredarT

Painting the Raising of Lazarus, oil on panel 30 x 40” 2024 In painting The Raising of Lazarus I wanted to dwell on the moment when Christ stands before the tomb and commands life itself to obey Him, revealing His divine authority over death. This miracle is not only an act of mercy for Lazarus and his sisters but the turning point that sets the Passion of Christ into motion, for it is after this sign that the authorities resolve that Jesus must die. In calling Lazarus forth, Christ reveals what He Himself is about to accomplish through His own death and Resurrection, showing that the Cross is not a defeat but the gateway to life. I see this scene as the calm before the storm, where glory and sacrifice meet, and where the promise of resurrection already casts its light over the coming Passion. #catholicart #catholicartist #lazarus #realisticpainting #sacredart
