For our very first episode of Kitchen Counter, we’re diving into the debut cookbook from former MasterChef winner Nat Thaipun — Thai: Everywhere & Anywhere. @nattywolf Nat’s food is all about bold flavours, simplicity, and dishes you can actually cook at home, so it felt like the perfect place to start this series. On the menu, we’ll be cooking two absolute standouts from the book: Steamed squid with lime and chilli sauce (Pla Muek Nueng Manao) and her Crab fried rice (Khao Pad Poo). Both recipes are fresh, punchy, and surprisingly simple to put together — proper weeknight Thai food that still delivers restaurant-level flavour. If you want to cook along with us, you can grab a copy of the book via the link below — highly recommend having it on your shelf. https://hardiegrant.lnk.to/Thai Let’s get into it, full episode in the link below: https://youtu.be/uKbS9k20Alw

Nat WOWED the judges on Day One! MasterChef l Australia l Sunday-Wednesday on TVNZ 2 & TVNZ+

In place of a Grand Finale spoiler, I give you a little @masterchefau 2024 BTS: non-stop belly laughs, silliness, teamwork and joy. I hope it conveys a sliver of how uplifting it is being part of this show. Last night I sat behind my family and friends for a better view of them yelling at the TV as @nattywolf and @pezza_the_tassie_butcher came into their own. Despite our recent family loss, my heart felt full; I’m so grateful I got to share my first season with dad. As the wise prophet Ronan Keating once said, “Life is a rollercoaster, just gotta ride it.” Enormous congratulations to all 22 contestants, my fellow judges, and the beautiful team that makes #MasterChefAu so much more than a cooking competition. Oh, and if you missed it, catch up on @10playau! I’m ready for seconds 🫶🏼

We've all got our go-tos – the venues we virtually live at, and recommend continually. In our new series, Go-To, we chat to some of our favourite Melburnians about their go-to spots. This time, Masterchef winner Nat Thaipun (@nattywolf) takes @danspaghettini to her go-to Thai cafe @udom.house, in West Melbourne, where you'll find Chiang Mai-style coffee, pandan kaya toast and pad see ew with all the trimmings.
