Not gonna lie, before my three-island adventure in Greece with @exodustravels, Naxos was barely on my radar—and now I’m wondering why the heck not!!! It surprised me in the best ways possible! Here are 5 things to do in Naxos that we actually did on my tour with Exodus Adventure Travels (and loved every second of!): 🩵 Catch the Sunset at the Temple of Apollo – This massive marble doorway is all that remains of an ancient temple, and when the sun dips behind it? Pure magic. 🩵 Hike Through Valleys and Villages – We wandered scenic trails that led through olive groves, citrus orchards, and sleepy villages where time felt like it slowed down. 🩵 Eat Loads of Traditional Greek Food – From fresh-caught seafood to creamy moussaka and just-baked bread dipped in tzatziki. Here are a few of my favorite restaurants not to miss: @ammos_naxos — They come to the table with all the fresh catch of the day and you can pick what you want for them to cook up for you 🐟 @caffegreco_naxos — this is where I fell in love with the Naxos salad! @sto_ladoxarto — the BEST beef Kontosouvli steak ever! @marostavern — it doesn’t get much more traditional than this place 🩵 Visit Limpertas Manolis Pottery Workshop – Watching this local artist spin clay into beautiful creations was such a special peek into the island’s craftsmanship and heritage. It’s also the perfect place to pick up a unique souvenir! 🩵 Walk Through Naxos Castle – This medieval castle is tucked right into the old town and feels like stepping into another era. Greece looks easy on the map until you start adding ferries, hotel changes, port transfers, delays, and constant packing. A lot of travellers try to squeeze Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Milos, Santorini, and Athens into one short trip… then wonder why the holiday feels exhausting. Slower island combinations usually feel much better. Athens → Paros → Naxos is one of the smoother Cyclades flows. Or simply Milos + Santorini for one week. Fewer ferries. Less rushing. There’s a specific shade of blue in Greece that doesn’t exist anywhere else…🇬🇷 Naxos mornings when the alleys are cool and faintly blue before the sun hits. Paros afternoons with that warm breeze that moves through the white stone. Santorini evenings when the light drops and the island slips into those soft colors everyone comes for. 🌅 Out of the five Greek islands I’ve been to, Paros is my favorite. It hits this perfect middle ground: less touristy than Santorini or Mykonos, but not so quiet that you’re bored. It’s beautiful, upscale in a subtle way, and the vibe there just clicked for me. These clips are from my trip last year, but I can still remember exactly how the air felt, the slow pace, the quiet. Greece has this way of slowing you down and making you notice everything.
