Happy National Dietitian Day from your RD bestie 🫶 My grandpa passed away from heart disease right before I started my dietetics schooling. And I made a promise to him & myself to help others with preventable diseases. Now I’m tearing up while writing this because it truly means the world to me to have a career where I help others heal and live longer, healthier lives 🥲 Life is hard, especially during these times. But being a dietitian is my way to give back to people who really need it. It gives me a purpose greater than myself. So shout out to all of the badass RDs out there doing the same thing 🫶 keep on going!

Happy National Registered Dietitian Day to all of my fellow RDNs! 🌱 As I reflect on the past 20+ years of experience as a Registered Dietitian I am both honored and humbled to have had the incredible experiences in the field of nutrition thus far. I always thought I would pursue being a news anchor but also had a passion for nutrition/health so my dream was to one day find a way to marry the two and that is exactly what I get to do as a Media Dietitian which I am so grateful for daily. I am so thankful I get to work within both regional/national media opportunities, write for national outlets, speak, and partner with incredible brands/ corporations, it truly is a gift! I have worked really hard to build a dynamic career in the Dietetic field and even though it’s not always easy, I have learned over and over again to keep going, keep learning, keep growing, and keep supporting each other. Dietitians are held to high standards and are a trusted voice of knowledge when it comes to nutrition and healthy evidenced based information. As a Registered Dietitian we have to complete: 🌱College Advanced Degree in Nutrition 🌱Complete 1200 hours of a residency internship 🌱Pass the rigorous CDR exam/boards 🌱Complete 75 hours of continued education every 5 years 🌱 Held to high standards under the code of ethics It is a privilege daily that I get to serve others through health and wellness as a Registered Dietitian and be an educational, trusted voice for you!! As evidenced above by my very professional cover photo, I am now officially a dietitian! It took 6 years of schooling, completing a dietetic internship, passing the Registered Dietitian certification exam, and taking way more chemistry classes than I thought possible. Along the way I was mentored by amazing dietitians and professors, worked with inspiring patients and clients, and I was incredibly supported by friends and family. I’m very thankful. What next? I’ll continue sharing my food adventures, teaching cheese classes, will add some “healthy” cooking classes to the mix, and will share more career plans here soon. Stay posted!
