The @carandache NeoColors 2 water soluble wax pastels are the newest addition to my art studio. So far I love them! *They are vibrant and buttery smooth used dry and can be blended with water and brush to create an effect similar to watercolours. *They will be a great addition to a travel palette are versatile. *You can achieve a variety of strokes and textures with just a few colours in your bag. Are Neocolors II's on you Christmas wish list this year? I thought I'd share some of my favorites just in case you were hoping to add a few colors to your collection. These are ones that I use often and keep in my travel kit. When   colors I like to have a range in value and saturation. So I'm looking at how light or dark a color is and the purity of the color. HOW TO USE NEOCOLORS II FOR COLORING BACKGROUNDS: Trust the process!! These water soluble crayons may require you to work in layers to get the opacity and blend you need. Make sure to let each layer dry to avoid tearing/crinkling the paper. You can take your water brush, pick up color directly from the crayon, and apply it to your paper to fill in some patchiness. Tip: once the paper is completely dry, use color pencils (I use Prismacolors) to help blend the different colors together. Lastly, have fun with it! Trying new supplies should be fun, and practicing helps improve your technique 🩵💚 Have you used neocolors ii?
