Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company, is building technology that lets humans control devices with their minds. The system works by placing ultra-thin threads, thinner than a human hair, into the brain’s motor cortex. These threads detect neural activity when a person thinks about moving or acting. A specialized autonomous surgical robot carefully inserts these delicate threads, avoiding blood vessels and minimizing tissue damage. Once implanted, the device wirelessly sends brain signals to a computer, where software translates them into commands. This allows users to move cursors, type, or control robotic limbs using only their thoughts.
