I’ve learned so much about what really works (and what doesn’t) in a kitchen. I definitely know myself and my habits better now. Looking back, I think we did an okay job with the space we had, but if I could do it all over again… there are a few things I’d definitely add this time around: 🚪 Pocket doors – to hide the mess or clutter when life gets busy. Out of sight, out of mind — and suddenly the kitchen feels calm again. 🍽️ Two dishwashers – hear me out! One for clean, one for dirty. No more constantly unloading just to fill it right back up. Total game-changer for families or anyone who cooks a lot. 🔌 Docking drawer – a built-in charging station for phones, tablets, and devices so the kitchen island stays clean and clutter-free. Because tech belongs inside the drawer, not all over the counter. ☕ Appliance closet – where everything is plugged in, assembled, and ready to use. Coffee maker, blender, toaster — all hidden but 100% functional. If you’re planning a kitchen remodel or dreaming about a future kitchen renovation, here’s my biggest tip: design for the way you actually live. Beautiful finishes are nice, but functionality and smart storage will make you fall in love with your kitchen every single day.
