It all started in Tyler, Texas 20 years ago. Just a girl with a dream at CBS19. Wanted to do sports bosses thought I should produce and work in investigative instead. I eventually circled back to sports 8 years later. My first Super Bowl assignment? New Orleans for 105.3 The Fan on radio row. I remember taking photos of the NFL Network set and dreaming of working there one day. Resume tapes for years amounted to nothing until I turned 35. People always ask how I got my start and I always say “just did the work” Year 9 was easily my best year at NFLN. Ironically…my very first SB assignment? New Orleans after passing last season to take care of mom who passed away SB Weekend and wouldn’t have changed that decision if I had to again. Meant so much to share a lot of it with my Day 1: dad. The season started in Brazil with the Eagles and ended with so many of them who had to wait or pay their dues too. I’ve come a long way and that’s never lost on me. I’m really proud of the dreamer who never gave up. 💕 for those of you who dream as well…don’t you dare quit either. The magic is waiting for you and the wait makes it worthwhile. A dream deterred is not a dream denied. I never let myself forget that despite years of job losses, layoffs and “not right now” from bosses. . . . #nflnetwork #SuperBowl
