Struggling to adjust to different pitch speeds? ⚾️ Try the 3-Plate Variation Drill to train timing, load control, and competing. ✅ Start normal distance ✅ Step closer each swing (faster + higher = less reaction time) ✅ Adjust your load + find a way to be on time ✅ Back up to normal and it feels like a changeup (timing control) COMMENT “PLATE” and I’ll DM you the 2 cues I gave this hitter to get on time up close 👊 Save this for your next cage day 🔥 #baseballtraining #hittingdrills #hittingtips

“WHEN do I fire my hips?” One of the most common questions we get and the answer is simple: 👉 Your hips should rotate before your front foot lands. But knowing that isn’t enough you’ve gotta train it. That’s why we use this PVC flow to feel sequencing, separation, and rotation from the ground up. ✅ Hip-shoulder separation ✅ Timing & rhythm ✅ Early hip fire without rushing open 👇 Drop “PVC” in the comments and I’ll DM you our free velo guide including this entire progression. #PitchingDrills #HipRotation #PitchingMechanics #BaseballTraining #pitchingdevelopment

Landon has been crushing👀 The fist thing we needed to address with him was his lower half patterning. With Landon, he was a guy who was told “push off the mound” when he was younger and that manifested into his delivery at the time of starting with me. We assigned him a few different drills to help hip hold tension for longer down the mound as opposed to pushing and going into early rotation. He also had a bad habit of over pronating his throwing arm when he went into handbreak. This affected the position he got into at footstrike and caused some arm pain. When we cleaned that up through abbreviated arm action drills, athletic catch, etc. - he got into a much more efficient position with his arm at footstrike and had way less arm pain. Landon was at 83 and now he’s chucking 84-86 indoors and is ready to absolutely shove at the JUCO level👀

Foot down early?? Can be good. Can be bad… There’s a right way (and right time) for foot down early, but a lot of coaches say this cue to hitters and fail to explain how to be athletic and actually on-time with it. Here I am coaching one of my hitters inside his video analysis to modify the way he goes about his foot down early approach. His coach wants this from him and I want to be a bridge with his coach vs. a roadblock that creates confusion. I want to teach him the best way to go about it where he can still become the best version of himself. No robotic body. No clunky timing. More athletic. More on-time. More rhythm. Less movement.

2 plate drill: A great drill to train timing and adjustability. Back plate (regular home) is a change up, front plate is a fastball. Need to be able to adjust your timing accordingly. I had Blake alternate plates this way he was consistently forced to have to adjust pitch to pitch like he would in a game

Shawn @shawn_sullivan_22 (Tennessee commit) & Zach @zach.diedrick.34 (Class of 2028) throwing a 1v1 bullpen with Velo, off-speed shape/consistency, & command⚡️🎯 Zach’s previous PR was 87mph whereas he hit 88mph with 7/10 fastballs this pen with 4 of them being 89+ & topping 89.4mph🤝🏼 Shawn took a page out of Zach’s book with the nasty off-speed and tuned up his cutter even more. His cutter was 87-90mph with consistent shape and command🦾 Competition brings the best out of people😎📈 #baseball #pitching #baseballtraining #pitchingmechanics #training

Great feel to help direction ⬇️ @d24_kelly showing some awesome progress recently, here’s a look at what we did. He is prone to over rotate and spin out, often staying “too connected” causing the barrel to pull out as well. We have been working a lot of direction feels especially with short bat extension holds. The “keep the head down” feel has been great for him to help hold direction longer. As usual, it is harder to transfer feels on machine work. He was spinning out and clipping many balls straight back. So we found a new feel to exaggerate the opposite of the miss: “hit a fungo to second base”. This kept him loose, flowy, and gave him more time with his barrel in the zone. That led to a machine EV/Distance PR as shown on top. Great work here, just getting started. #hittingcoach #hittingdrills #hittingmechanics #baseballdrills #hittinglessons

If you’re pulling off the ball, try this ⬇️ One of the most common misses a hitter will have is spinning out of the zone fast. In order to correct this, we exaggerate the extreme opposite in training. What causes a player to spin off?? - getting tense - head fly out - late/rushed - out of the zone quick So what do we FEEL with this drill in training?? - stay loose - head down - be early / out front - hold direction as long as possible Hitting wiffle balls low + away allow you to feel many of those simultaneously without any complex swing adjustments. It’s also pretty fun. Save this and try it out the next time you hit. #hittingcoach #baseball #hittingdrills #hitting #baseballdrills

Make your move on time and controlled is a big unlock. Too much aggression pushes us tighter to contact and gives the hitter much less time to react to the pitch. Controlled stride and aware of stride length is huge for hitting high velocity and multiple pitches well. This must be trained on all that machine work you kids are doing 😉 #hitting #baseball #hittingdrills #collegebaseball #milb

Pitchers clean up your mechanics and the velo follows. 3 drills I use to build better movers on the mound: 1️⃣ Drift Wall Drill w/ ISO Hold – teaches control into the gather and prevents early leak 2️⃣ Darvish Drill (Flatground) – builds rhythm, direction, and sequencing 3️⃣ Janitor Throws w/ Finesse Water Bag – trains stability + rotational control under load If you want the full routine I use with my guys, comment GUIDE and I’ll send it over. #PitchingDevelopment #BaseballTraining #PitchingDrills #VelocityTraining #ArmCare

How to make adjustments ⬇️ Making adjustments with thoughts / feel is the most powerful skill a hitter can learn. Simple. Clear. Powerful. Here’s what happened: Ryan was getting pushy/late trying to force these balls oppo. We were doing oppo angled machine with @marvtraining balls. The goal was to get him to have a connected first move turn, but then release the barrel to hold rig ur center direction. By telling him to pull the ball, it naturally loosened him up and unlocked his turn, rather than handsy push. Naturally, he started to consistently backspin balls oppo, even while thinking pull. This is the power of words/feel. This is what actually plays in games. Miss pushy? Pull the ball/turn. Miss early/spinny? Think oppo. Miss under the ball? Think over the ball. Stuck back? Get forward. Your thoughts and feel can naturally balance out your most frequent miss. This is how you prepare to win at bats in games. #hittingcoach #baseball #hittingdrills #hitting #baseballdrills

⚾️ High school hitter + 8 MPH exit velo. Didn’t swing harder. He got more efficient. We didn’t chase strength. We didn’t chase max effort. We cleaned up: ✅ barrel path ✅ timing ✅ direction ✅ connection When the swing works better, the ball jumps. You don’t need to swing harder. You need to move better. If you’re stuck at the same velo and feel like you’re already swinging as hard as you can… My remote hitting program is built for you. Comment “VELO” and I’ll send you the details. 📲
