Sometimes, being well means stopping completely. I talk so much about moving your body, showing up for yourself, making time for wellness,and yes, all of that matters. But so does this: listening when your body says no. Today, mine said it loud and clear 🙌 My first proper period since giving birth arrived with every symptom I didn’t miss. An endo flare-up, a rash around my eyes and nose, exhaustion that hit me hard. I even thought I had COVID for a second (thankfully I don’t). I managed a couple of movements, then stopped. I cried. I cuddled my boy. I asked for help. And I didn’t feel guilty about it. But here is what I really want to share; Being a Pilates instructor doesn’t mean I’m immune to off days. Being a wellness advocate doesn’t mean I always feel well. It means I know how to honour my body, even when I know it needs rest. If you need the reminder today: rest is not lazy. Rest is not failure. Rest is part of the work. and remember, you don’t have to be “on” every day.
