I’m softer than a peach but the point is, it’s an experience that makes you have to relearn basic parts of life. Whether if it’s because you moved away from home, had a falling out, grew apart from your group, anyone can go through the experience of not having reliable relationships at any point in life and you realize how reliant you are on the people around you for regular things. It’s fine to rely on others, of course. But it’s suchhhhh a shift when you find eating at a restaurant, being seen alone in public, etc. as “not fun” or something that now has a negative connotation because now no ones around. I had to fall in love with these things all over again! Little by little, learning and relearning that we’re not going to always have the relationships we want but we still have to keep living. Everything isn’t “bad” because we’re not with company. The moments where things aren’t as ideal as we’d like can still be romanticized in some ways and we can make moments of joy even if they’re small. It builds our esteem and only makes us stronger.
