Four years ago, I published one of my favorite creations — Science Art and Drawing Games for Kids with a goal to help kids LOVE learning! My book combines science and creativity in a way that helps kids truly see and understand the world around them. These activities have been used in homeschools, classrooms, and creative homes all over the world, and it still makes me so happy to see kids exploring science this way. If you’d like to see more activities and check out the book, you can find it on the blog- link in comments! #HandsOnLearning #science #scienceart #STEAMeducation #stemeducation #teachers #homeschooling #teachbesideme

Step-by-step INVISIBLE INK experiment 👇🧪✨ 1️⃣ Mix 1 Tbsp baking soda + ½ cup water in a glass container. Stir well (it doesn’t dissolve quickly — keep mixing!). 2️⃣ Use paintbrushes to write secret messages on paper. Words, doodles, secret codes… it’ll be hard to see 👀 3️⃣ Let the papers dry completely. 4️⃣ Make your “decoder” 🕵️♀️ Mix 1 tsp turmeric powder + ½ cup hand sanitizer. ⚠️ Turmeric can stain hands and surfaces — be careful! 5️⃣ Once dry, place papers on a tray and paint over them using paintbrushes and the turmeric solution. ✨ Watch the hidden messages appear! The color becomes even more vibrant as it fully dries 🤯 STEAM + hands-on experimenting. Save this for your next educational activity! 📌 Share with a teacher or parent who needs this idea.

Aside from the obvious…being super cool! Specimens are a unique resource that will engage your child’s senses, develop their observation skills & support their understanding and inquisitive thinking about science & nature. Hands-on, playful and tons of different ways to use them. They are one thing you won’t regret incorporating into your daily play. 🧪 Science Activity – Magic Tissue Paper With just a few sheets of tissue paper and some markers, parents can create a fascinating “magic trick” together with their child. When the paper is placed into water, adorable drawings suddenly appear as if by magic ✨ Through this activity, children not only develop their artistic creativity by freely drawing their favorite images, but also learn about capillary action — a scientific phenomenon that allows water to carry color through the tissue paper, making the hidden pictures appear in a fun and surprising way.

I didn’t mean to start another unit already… …but this book completely pulled me in. Unit 1 of 6 is built around Structure and Body design. structure determines motion. Legs built to dig. Wings built to hover. Design built for survival. This one is layered with: • supporting video links • guided journal entries • STEM challenges • art + observation • real biomechanics (in kid language 😉) When learning connects like this, it sticks. I’m honestly so excited about how it’s coming together. 🐛✨ If you love hands-on, curiosity-led learning… stay close. #homeschoollife #curiosityledlearning #homeschoolcurriculum #sciencewithkids #naturestudy

✨ Magic Spoon Science That Feels Like a Trick ✨ Draw a picture on the back of a metal spoon with a dry erase marker, dip it slowly into water, and watch the drawing lift off and float. Kids stare. Parents blink. Science quietly wins. Here’s what’s happening in kid friendly terms: Dry erase marker does not stick very well to smooth metal. When water slides underneath the drawing, the ink lets go and floats on top because it does not mix with water. This is one of my favorite screen free science activities for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary kids because it builds curiosity, prediction skills, and confidence without a big setup or mess. Try it with faces, letters, or shapes and ask “What do you think will happen before we put it in the water?” That moment matters more than the result. If you want more simple science experiments for kids, learning through play ideas, and easy at home activities that actually support development, come hang out with me. Comment SPOON and I’ll send you more screen free learning ideas parents love. Follow for more playful learning, parenting strategies, and confidence building activities for kids ages 2–8.

Ink That Escapes 🥄💨 Teacher: “Why are you drawing on the spoon?” Students: “It’s fun 😝” Teacher: “Ok… let’s see it come out through water 😏” Draw, dip, and watch the colors break free from the spoon 🌈✨ Science has never looked this magical 🧙♂️💦 #kindergarten #preschool #InkThatEscapes #MagicInMotion #STEMFun DIYScience ColorSplash MindBlown LearnThroughPlay FunExperiment

🐣 Science + Art = The Best Kind of Learning! 🎨 Today Dem Kidz explored oviparous animals — yep, the animals that lay eggs (go head… look it up 😂). We talked about how oviparous animals hatch from eggs instead of being born live, then took that learning to the art table! Each child painted an egg and chose which oviparous animal they believed laid it — birds, reptiles, dinosaurs (of course 🦖), and more. This activity supported: ✨ Science vocabulary & life science concepts ✨ Creative expression & imagination ✨ Fine motor skills (brush control, color mixing) ✨ Decision-making & oral language as they explained their choices Because around here, learning and fun always go hand in hand at Huggable Home Preschool 💕 We don’t just paint — we learn with purpose while counting hearts, not heads. #DemKidz #OviparousAnimals #LearningThroughPlay #PreschoolScience #ArtWithAPurpose HuggableHomePreschool HandsOnLearning LittleScientists TexasPreschool

Can you guess how this works? 🤔 No tracing paper, no light box—just the power of reflection! This simple tool is a game-changer for practicing fine motor skills and spatial awareness.
