One of the funniest things I’ve heard in a while! Lol 23andme and all of these other genetic tests are useless for many reasons. - Genetic-based interventions are far from understood. - Disease risk and gene function are dominated by the environment. - These tests often do more harm than good because they make people hypochondriacs when the intervention is often the same whether you had a certain genetic predisposition or not. DISPELLING MYTHS THIS MONDAY I’ve been told to introduce myself in a sentence, so for those of you who are seeing me for the first time my name is Dr Vanessa Kimbell I’m considered by many to be the worlds leading expert in Nutrition and digestibility Bread. I’m a time served professional Sourdough baker, a member of @nutrition.lifestyle.medicine I have a doctorate in baking as lifestyle medicine & preventative health and I approach bread as functional nutrition. Understanding bread and the impact on health has been an obsession for decades. How does Bread impact our health? Well the truth is that impacts each one of differently and this Monday I’m going to be working with a group of functional medical practitioners and discussing eight of the major genes that impact our relationship between Bread and Health. I look forward to seeing you. It’s a free webinar this Monday 7 pm. I’ll put the link in the stories and also in the bio. I hope to see you there. I’m very excited to be talking with Emma who is the founder of Lifecode GX and this incredible woman (who also was the first person to clean the term Nutrigenetics) So any questions pop them in the comments below and if not, I’ll see you on Monday evening for a really fascinating discussion on Bread and genetics. #nutrigenomics #sourdough #functionalmedicinedoctor #guthealthmatters #bread

If you’re working out hard and still gaining belly fat - this is why👇 Most women don’t realise that over-exercising can actually trigger a cortisol spike that causes MORE fat to be stored around your midsection. Not less. And it gets more specific than that. Your genes determine whether exercise taps into fat at all, and for some people, it simply doesn’t work that way. That’s not failure. That’s biology. Rachel Clarkson, the UK’s leading DNA dietician, breaks down exactly why this happens and what to do instead - full episode of the Making Healthy Easy podcast out now everywhere! This variant does not usually create the significant methylfolate deficiency people often associate with MTHFR. Many people with A1298C plus plus actually have a lower need for methylfolate compared to the C677T variant. Where this variant tends to matter more is BH4 and SAMe, two key players in neurotransmitter production. BH4 helps produce dopamine serotonin norepinephrine SAMe supports methylation, which helps regulate neurotransmitter balance and brain signaling. When BH4 or SAMe demand is higher, it can impact brain chemicals involved in focus, motivation, mood, and attention.
